dc.description.abstract	Desde la antigüedad se ha conocido el uso de las plantas en la medicina natural, alimentación, perfumería y rituales. Sus propiedades curativas y benéficas quedaron en el registro histórico de civilizaciones como las china, sumeria, griega, judía, egipcia, entre otras. Con el paso del tiempo y debido al desarrollo industrial, se relegó su uso, dejándose casi en el olvido (las tribus indígenas continuaron con su implementación). Aunque el hombre no escatimó en recursos para encontrar en la medicina alternativa la solución a todos sus problemas, tuvo que volver a la naturaleza, hallando en ella la respuesta a muchos interrogantes. Es por ello que hoy día el uso de plantas se hace vital y necesario. En el caso específico las plantas aromáticas, las cuales gracias a su propiedades y efectos, se han convertido en un punto importante en industrias como la alimenticia, perfumería, aseo personal, aromaterapia, entre otros, a generado una demanda global que ha ido en aumento. Es por ello y teniendo en cuenta una previa investigación, con base en documentos y datos científicos, económicos y de salud, se realizó esté proyecto enfocado en la extracción de aceites esenciales de las plantas ylang ylang y albahaca , cuyos beneficios aportan al mejoramiento de la calidad de vida de quienes lo consumen y cuya oferta mundial está siendo insuficiente para su demanda, abriendo así la posibilidad de ingresar a este mercado produciendo desde Colombia, dando provecho a las cualidades climáticas, la disposición de agricultores, el conocimiento técnico y las ganancias que se pueden adquirir.
dc.description.abstractenglish	Since ancient times the use of plants in natural medicine, food, perfumery and rituals has been known. Its healing and beneficial properties remained in the historical record of civilizations such as chinese, Sumerian, Greek, Jewish, Egyptian, among others. With the passage of time and due to industrial development, its use was relegated, leaving it almost forgotten (the indigenous tribes continued with its implementation). Although man spared no resources to find in alternative medicine the solution to all his problems, he had to return to nature, finding in it the answer to many questions. That is why today the use of plants becomes vital and necessary. In the specific case, aromatic plants, which thanks to their properties and effects, have become an important point in industries such as food, perfumery, personal hygiene, aromatherapy, among others, have generated a global demand that has been increasing. That is why and taking into account a previous research, based on scientific, economic and health documents and data, this project was carried out focused on the extraction of essential oils from the ylang ylang and basil plants, whose benefits contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of those who consume it and whose world supply is being insufficient for its demand, thus opening the possibility of entering this market producing from Colombia, taking advantage of the climatic qualities, the disposition of farmers, the technical knowledge and the profits that can be acquired.
