OR = 0.44, (IC 95%: 0.26 – 0.77).

RESULTS: The prevalence of the different blood groups in the population was: 56,74% for the group O, 32,17% for the group A, 10,22% for group B and of 0,87% for group AB. Was a statistically significant association between gastric cancer and the blood group A, showing to a OR = 2,22 (IC 95%: 1.38 – 3,57); similarly, the presence of relatives in first degree with another type of cancer different from the gastric one: OR = 1,91 (IC 95%: 1.05 – 3,46). We demonstrate that to be smaller of 50 years it is a protective factor. OR = 0.44, (IC 95%: 0.26 – 0,77). We did not find association between nourishing habits and other documented factors of risk in Literature with the appearance of gastric cancer. The type of predominant gastric cancer was adenocarcinoma intestinal variety with 45,75% and the location, the cavern-pilorica with 43,14%. The proportion of Helicobacter pylori in the pathology reports was single of 30,07% of the total of the examined samples. 14 CONCLUSIONS: In the present study was significant association between the blood group A and the presence of gastric cancer like also with having relatives in first degree with another type of cancer different from the gastric one. The smaller age of 50 years appeared like protective factor
