| dc.description.abstract | El objetivo de este proyecto es contribuir a los esfuerzos generados por la Universidad Industrial de Santander respecto a la preservación de la integridad física de la población estudiantil, empleados, población flotante, instalaciones y propiedades, realizando el diseño básico del sistema contra incendios para la biblioteca central de ésta universidad. Este diseño fue realizado bajo la aplicación de las normas de la National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), organización internacional encargada de desarrollar códigos y normas de edificación y de seguridad, para la protección y prevención contra incendios. Los requisitos mínimos para la prevención, protección, y planeación de contingencia de pérdida de fuego en edificaciones culturales como bibliotecas y museos, se encuentran plasmados en la norma NFPA 909 Code for the Protection of Cultural Resources. El diseño consta de un sistema de supresión de incendios que utiliza rociadores automáticos y gabinetes contra incendios, este sistema fue realizado bajo los requisitos expuestos en la norma NFPA 13 Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems; además cuenta con el sistema de detección automática de incendios, sistema que incluye detectores, pulsadores manuales y sirenas, asimismo con un panel de control para la supervisión de los componentes anteriores, este sistema fue diseñado utilizando las premisas consignadas en la norma NFPA 72 National Fire Alarm Code. Con la futura implementación del sistema contra incendios, la biblioteca central proporcionará las medidas de seguridad mínimas preescritas por organizaciones nacionales e internacionales para la seguridad de vida humana en caso de incendio, de igual forma con estos sistemas se minimizará la propagación de cualquier fuego dentro del edificio garantizando la protección de las colecciones, la estructura y la continuidad de sus actividades | |
| dc.description.abstractenglish | The objective of this project is to contribute to the efforts generated by the Industrial University of Santander regarding the preservation of the student population's, employees, floating population, physical integrity, facilities and properties, carrying out the basic design of the fire system for the central library of this university. This design was carried out under the application of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, international organization in charge of developing construction and security codes and standard, for the protection and fire prevention. The minimum requirements for the prevention, protection, and contingency plan of fire loss in cultural constructions as libraries and museums, are captured in the NFPA 909 code, Code for the Protection Cultural of Resources. The design consists of a fire suppression system that uses automatic sprinklers and fires cabinets, this system was carried out under the requirements exposed in the NFPA 13 standard, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems; also includes with a fire detection automatic system, this system includes detecting, manual push and sirens, also with a control panel for the supervision of the previous components, this system was designed using the premises consigned in the standard NFPA 72 National Fire Alarm Code. With the future implementation of the fire system, the central library will provide the minimum measures of security prescribed by the national and international organizations for the security of human life in the event of fire, by the same way with these systems, the propagation of any fire will be minimized inside the building guaranteeing the protection of the collections, the structure and the continuity of its activities. | |
