dc.description.abstractEl Bloque San Gabriel se encuentra en el extremo Sur-Oeste del Valle Superior del Magdalena cerca al punto donde convergen las Cordilleras Central y Oriental. Hace parte de una provincia geológica compleja deformada por los mismos procesos geológicos que dieron lugar a estas cordilleras. Comprende rocas desde el Precámbrico hasta el reciente, siendo afectadas una última vez durante el Mioceno por un evento de tipo compresivo. Dicha historia evolutiva generó en el área una topografía muy variable, colocando rocas ígneas de alta densidad sobre rocas cretácicas de interés petrolífero, y basamento pre-cretáceo sobre sedimentos recientes. Esta configuración genera en el Bloque fuertes contrastes de velocidad vertical y lateral, lo que sumado a la presencia de una gruesa capa de meteorización genera artefactos en la información sísmica, y una relación señal ruido muy baja. La presente tesis de grado describe la adquisición, el procesamiento y la interpretación de una línea sísmica recientemente adquirida en la zona, donde además de los problemas ya mencionados se suma el efecto del ruido aleatorio. El objetivo del trabajo fue lograr una mejor resolución de los reflectores de interés por medio de técnicas de procesamiento convencional, partiendo de la experiencia en campo y de la integración de la información geológica existente. El resultado fue una sección geológica interpretable de resolución satisfactoria dada la calidad de los datos en bruto y la ausencia casi total de reflexiones. Además se generó una sencilla interpretación de la sección, la cual, es viable y coherente con la configuración geológica planteada por algunos autores. dc.description.abstractenglishThe San Gabriel Block is in the Southwestern end of the Upper Magdalena Basin near to the point where the Central and Eastern mountain ranges converge. It is part of a complex geologic province deformed by such geologic processes that gave rise to these mountain ranges. It includes rocks from the Precambrian to the recent age, being affected a last time during Miocene by an event of compressive type. This evolutionary history generated in the area a very variable topography, placing igneous rocks of high density on cretaceous rocks of petroliferous interest, and plinth pre-cretaceous on recent sediments. This configuration generates in the Block strong variations of vertical and lateral speed, which added to the presence of a thick weathering layer, generates artifacts in the seismic information, and a very low signal noise ratio. The present thesis of degree describes the acquisition, the processing and the interpretation of a seismic line recently acquired in the zone, where in addition to the problems already mentioned the effect of the random noise is added. The objective of the work was to obtain one better resolution of the reflectors of interest by means of techniques of conventional processing to low cost, starting off of the experience in field and the integration of the existing geologic information. The result was an interpretable geologic section of satisfactory resolution given the quality of the raw data and the almost total absence of reflections. In addition the work generated a simple interpretation of the section, which, is viable and coherent with the geologic configuration raised by some authors.
