dc.description.abstractEste texto examina el concepto de performatividad en la obra Cuerpos que importan: Sobre los límites discursivos del «sexo», la cual permite dar paso al estudio de las redes sociales y a los actuales medios de comunicación. Esta es la manera más común que tenemos las personas para relacionarnos, pues su magnificación ha impactado en la realidad. Con ello, transforma las identidades y la forma de percibir los cuerpos en las sociedades. Este texto sostiene que el concepto de performatividad permite analizar la reiteración de las normas y, del mismo modo, la construcción de un campo social y cultural que se plasma en las redes sociales. Asimismo, la reproducción en relación con las construcciones corporales de la realidad va introducida en este nuevo espacio. Por lo tanto, se resalta el conflicto de los discursos que se insertan para la constitución de los cuerpos, la concepción de las identidades contemporáneas y la percepción del “yo”, ya que define en su presencia quiénes somos. El objetivo central consiste en describir cómo el lenguaje construye mediante las prácticas reiterativas nuevas formas de identificación, también el impacto que este tiene mediante comentarios, likes, imágenes y la mirada del otro en la significación y el reflejo de sí frente al mundo. Por este motivo, se cuestionan las imágenes que homogeneizan, en este caso, a las mujeres bajo el discurso de la perfección y el paso al reconocimiento.
dc.description.abstractenglishThis text examines the concept of performativity in Bodies That Matter: On the Discursive Limits of “Sex”, which provides a foundation for studying social media and contemporary communication platforms. These platforms have become the most common way for people to connect, as their magnification has impacted reality, thereby transforming identities and the way bodies are perceived in society. This text argues that the concept of performativity allows for the analysis of the reiteration of norms and, similarly, the construction of a social and cultural field that is reflected in social media. Moreover, the reproduction of bodily constructions of reality is introduced into this new space. Therefore, the text highlights the conflict within the discourses that shape the constitution of bodies, the conception of contemporary identities, and the perception of the “self,” as these define who we are through their presence. The central objective is to describe how language constructs new forms of identification through reiterative practices, as well as the impact it has through comments, likes, images, and the gaze of the Other in shaping self-signification and reflection in the world. For this reason, the text questions the images that homogenize, particularly in the case of women, under the discourse of perfection and the path to recognition.
