dc.description.abstractEl inventario Nacional de patrimonio geológico es una necesidad académica y social que busca la gestión de los sitios que se destacan por la representación de la historia y evolución geológica del territorio. Se realizó un inventario del patrimonio geológico inmueble en la Mesa de Los Santos siguiendo la metodología propuesta por el Servicio Geológico Colombiano. La valoración fue aplicada a 18 potenciales geotopos, de los cuales tres (Georuta Los Santos Jordán, Yacimiento Paleontológico El Diamante y Las Juntas) se destacaron por su valor científico siendo potenciales geositios que estarían dentro del territorio del Geoparque Aspirante Cañón del Chicamocha. En la mayoría de los sitios se destaca su potencial de uso educativo por sus condiciones geológicas intrínsecas que podrían ser aprovechadas sosteniblemente con el desarrollo de actividades pedagógicas en niveles de educación superior, y básica secundaria. Tres sitios tienen un alto potencial turístico y 15 sitios presentan un potencial de uso turístico medio, lo que llama la atención ya que si se gestiona este renglón de la economía podría llegar a beneficiar mayormente el casco urbano y algunas veredas del SW del municipio. Ocho de los geotopos identificados (44%) presentan una relación directa con el patrimonio arqueológico, ya que en estos sitios existe arte rupestre (pictografías) o hay algunos restos arqueológicos. Estos geotopos exhiben la relación sinérgica que puede llegar a tener el patrimonio geológico con el patrimonio cultural. fue donado a una sede rural de una institución educativa, en una zona donde en cercanías hay presencia de elementos del patrimonio geológico (fósiles)
dc.description.abstractenglishThe geoheritage national inventory is a requirement academic and social need that seeks the management of sites that stand out for representing the history and geological evolution of the territory. An inventory of the immovable geological heritage in the Mesa of Los Santos Municipality was carried out following the methodology proposed by the Colombian Geological Service. The assessment was applied to 18 geotopes of which 3 (Georuta Los Santos Jordán, Yacimiento Paleontológico El Diamante and Las Juntas) stood out for their scientific value, being potential geosites that would be within the territory of the Candidate Cañón del Chicamocha Geopark. In most of the sites their pedagogical potencial use stands out due to their intrinsic geological conditions that could be used sustainably with the development of educational activities at higher education levels, and basic secondary. Three sites have a high tourism potential use and 15 sites present a potential for medium tourist use, which is striking since if this line of the economy is strengthened, it could benefit the urban area and some sidewalks in the SW of the municipality. Eight of the identified geotopes (44%) have a direct relationship with the archaeological heritage, since in these sites there is rock art (pictographs) or there are some archaeological remains. These geotopes show the synergistic relationship that geological heritage can have with cultural heritage. Additionally, a material called "geomaleta" was designed for use in geoeducation and donated to a rural headquarters of an educational institution, in an area where nearby there are elements of the geological heritage (fossils)
