dc.description.abstractEl humedal ciénaga Juan Esteban se encuentra ubicado en la comuna cuatro, sector suroriental del municipio de Barrancabermeja, las problemáticas ambientales que hoy por hoy presenta este ecosistema natural , comenzaron a principios de la década de los ochenta, cuando en las orillas del humedal se dieron inicio los procesos de conurbación, en forma acelerada y con una marcada deficiencia en la planificación . Su localización en la franja limítrofe entre lo urbano y rural ha sido una gran desventaja, el humedal se ha convertido en el patio trasero de los asentamientos urbanos posicionados en sus orillas, muchos de ellos en la ronda de protección . Descargas de aguas residuales domésticas, disposición final de residuos sólidos, explotación indiscriminada del recurso ´pesquero y faunístico, han sido las actividades antrópicas que han menoscabado y alterado la estructura, funcionamiento y dinámica del humedal . La presente evaluación de la calidad del agua se realizó utilizando el método de bioindicación BMWP / Col, también se llevó a cabo la caracterización fisicoquímica y microbiológica, igualmente se cuantificó en hectáreas la superficie del espejo de agua , las prácticas anteriormente mencionadas permitieron conocer el nivel de contaminación en el cual se encuentra inmerso el humedal ciénaga Juan Esteban .
dc.description.abstractenglishThe wetland marsh Juan Esteban is located in the commune four, sector suroriental of the municipality of Barrancabermeja, the problematic environmental ones that today per today presents this natural ecosystem, they began at the beginning of the decade of the eighties, when in the shores of the wetland they were given I initiate the processes of conurbación, in intensive form and with a marked deficiency in the planning. His location in the bordering band between the urban and rural thing has been a great disadvantage, the wetland has turned into the back court of the urban accessions positioned in his shores, many of them into the protection round. You come out of domestic waste water, final disposition of solid residues, indiscriminate exploitation of the resource ' fishing boat and faunístico, they have been the activities antrópicas that have reduced and altered the structure, functioning and dynamics of the wetland. The present evaluation of the quality of the water was realized using the method of bioindicación BMWP / Cabbage, also there was carried out the physicochemical and microbiological characterization, equally the surface of the water mirror was quantified in hectares, the practices previously mentioned allowed to know the level of pollution in which Juan Esteban is immersed the wetland marsh.
