dc.description.abstractMemorias de Agua es una propuesta artística que busca preservar a través de una instalación, la memoria colectiva de las personas que conocieron las Chorreras de Don Juan, también conocido coloquialmente como el Acueducto de las tres BBB (Bobo, burrito y barril), debido a que se necesita de un burro y un barril para sacar el líquido y del "bobo" al que asignaban tan ardua labor. La instalación está conformada por 5 cajas de luz; cada una representa la interpretación artística de una memoria de los habitantes más antiguos del barrio, frente a sus experiencias con el acueducto de las tres BBB. Las cajas recreadas en su interior, por medio de múltiples planos, una composición tridimensional que se ilumina a medida que se activa el relato de cada una de las personas entrevistadas para el proyecto. La palabra de cada testigo de lo vivido en este lugar ilumina la memoria que se comparte al espectador. Este proyecto surge del interés por las historias de juventud de mi padre en las que relataba haber visto pasar frente al Cementerio Central a los aguadores con sus barriles a lomo de burro y una vez decidido el tema del proyecto, él mismo comenzó a acompañarme en mis primeras visitas al barrio tratando de reconocer en la nueva arquitectura las marcas del pasado. La obra de arte se nutre de los relatos experimentados durante el trabajo con la comunidad del barrio Chorreras de Don Juan y se alimenta de la memoria colectiva de sus habitantes con sus mitos y leyendas que sobrevivieron hasta el día de hoy en la memoria de sus adultos mayores.
dc.description.abstractenglishMemorias de agua is an artistic proposal that seeks to preserve, through an installation, the collective memory of the people who knew “Las Chorreras de Don Juan”, colloquially known as the Aqueduct of the three BBBs (Fool, donkey and barrel), due to the fact that it takes a donkey and a barrel to get the liquid and a "fool" to do such a hard work. The installation is made up of 5 lightboxes; each one represents the artistic interpretation of a memory of the oldest inhabitants of the neighborhood, as compared to their experiences with the aqueduct of the three BBBs. The boxes, recreated inside by means of multiple planes, a three-dimensional composition that lights up as the story of each one of the people interviewed for the project is activated. The word of each witness of what was lived in this place illuminates the memory that is shared with the viewer. This project arises from my interest in the stories of my father's youth in which he told me having seen the water carriers pass by in front of the Central Cemetery with their barrels on the back of a donkey and once he knew I was going to work on the subject for the project, he himself began to accompany me on my first visits to the neighborhood trying to recognize the marks of the past in the new architecture. The work of art is nourished by the stories experienced during my visits to the community of “Las Chorreras Don Juan” and is fed by the collective memory of its inhabitants with their myths and legends that survived to this day in the memory of their greater adults.
