| dc.description.abstract | Io. En la actualidad, es general la actitud de ignorar la muerte, a pesar de ser ésta la única certeza que se tiene en la existencia. Al emprender un ejercicio de reflexión en torno a una obra literaria, es posible encontrar elementos que permitan tener en cuenta a la muerte y, por ello, propiciar una actitud hacia ella distinta al olvido. La pieza trágica de Esquilo Prometeo Encadenado, sirve para dicho fin en el presente escrito. Ahora bien, con miras a desarrollar la indagación filosófica propuesta, es preciso, primero, dar una mirada general al tema de la muerte y, concretamente, a la relación que puede erigirse entre el dolor, el miedo y el acontecimiento de la muerte. Asimismo, es importante remitirse a los planteamientos de algún filósofo que permita, a partir de sus ideas, comprender otros aspectos relacionados con el tema en cuestión. En este trabajo, dicho requerimiento se cumple a partir de la lectura crítica de algunos fragmentos de Heráclito de Éfeso. Finalmente, en la tragedia se encuentra la acción de un titán a favor de los hombres, que acarrea para aquél el desencadenamiento de un severo y doloroso castigo. La contraposición entre este dolor y el que siente Io, una mortal que sufre, sin tener en ello culpa alguna, permite elucidar algunas características de la experiencia de dolor de los humanos. Asimismo, el contraste entre el carácter de Prometeo y el que muestran los otros dioses es determinante para entender la valentía de este personaje. A pesar de que para definir a los seres humanos sea necesario aludir a un rasgo contrario al de Prometeo, esto es, el de su mortalidad, la generación de una actitud ante la muerte requiere de un arrojo similar al del personaje trágico. | |
| dc.description.abstractenglish | Nowadays, it is common to find the attitude of disregarding death, even though death is the solecertainty during the existence. By a reflection on a literary work, it is possible to find elements thatallow people to take death into account and, therefore, generate an attitude towards it different fromthe oblivion. Esquilo’s tragic work Prometeo Encadenad6o, is used for this purpose within this text. In order to do the philosophical task proposed, it is necessary, in the first place, to regard generallythe topic of death; specifically, to the relationship that can be established between pain, fear and thefact of death. It is also important to pay attention to the ideas of a philosopher that can allow thecomprehension of some other aspects related to the matter. In this written work, this need issatisfied by the critic approach to some of the fragments of Heraclitus. Finally, there is in the tragedy the action of a Titan understood as a favor for men, that brings forhim a great and painful punishment. The contrast between this pain and that felt by /o (a human thatsuffers even if she is not responsible for what is being punished) allow the elucidation of somecharacteristics of the human experience of pain. In addition, the contrast between the character ofPrometeo and that shown by the other gods is very important to understand the braveness of thefirst. Even though in order to define human beings it is necessary to speak of mortality (acharacteristic that Prometeo does not have), the development of an attitude towards death needsthe courage of the tragic character. | |
