dc.description.abstractenglish | Since bio-inspired design has provided optimal solutions in different fields of knowledge, and currently, the development of new computational technologies provides feasible algorithms to decipher the knowledge accumulated over billions of years in nature, which could also provide solutions to structural problems in the field of civil engineering application. This study integrated three-dimensional modeling, prediction by deep learning neural networks and simulation by the finite element method using Ansys software, to analyze and compare the tensile and compressive behavior of biomimetic structures: gyroid, helical and trabecular. Likewise, by means of sensitivity analysis, the specific behavior of each bio-inspired geometry was observed and identified, and the relationship and tendency of the net volume of material and deformation was determined, in response to the variation of the geometric parameters, for a specific interval of the design space, limited to a specimen defined according to the ASTM E9-09 standard with a height of 14 cm. The results show the comparison between the stress-strain curves of each structure with respect to the other two, in which the following characteristics were analyzed: stiffness, strain energy absorption (toughness) and stiffness/volume ratio translated as material optimization.
