dc.description.abstractenglish | With the purpose of fulfilling the increasing water demand (domestic, touristic, agricultural and industrial uses), coastal aquifers along the Spanish Mediterranean coast have been subjected to intense exploitation. The overexploitation of these aquifers, which is mainly done through pumping, have led to a rapid alteration of the natural balance between fresh and marine waters and have produced their salinization from a marine intrusion, limiting its possible uses in the community. Because of this, Spain created organizations in charge of monitoring water. However, to have a more detailed of the area of interest, located in Catalonia within the Tarragona region, the following undergraduate project report is carried out in a research work modality with the purpose of proposing the hydrogeological and hydrological characterization of this aquifer system is proposed, through a geophysical analysis completed in the field using geolectrics.
