dc.description.abstractenglish | The cheese whey (CW) is the main waste generated during cheese production. In this research, the implementation of Anaerobic Co-digestion (ACOD) of the CW and bovine manure (BM) was studied as a technology to take advantage of the high organic matter content of these substrates, generating a biogás and a digested material. The CW has the ability to degrade rapidly, causing a high production of volatile fatty acids (VFA) that results in the inhibition of the process. Bovine manure (BM) was implemented as co-substrate, decreasing the accumulation of VFA's and ensuring the stability of the process. During the experiment, the biochemical methane potential (BMP) from the different CW/BM mixtures by varying the inoculum substrate relation (ISR), temperature and CW fraction (CWf) employed were calculated. The most favorable conditions of operation were determined by using a factorial design 23 + center point + axial points of the Statgraphics program. The optimal conditions were: a mixture of 70% of CW and 30% of BM, ISR of 2,2 kg VSinculum/kg VSsubstrate and a temperature of 35 ° C, gg L and a BMP Of 0,6 m3CH4/kgVS. The validation of the BMP was using stabilized bovine manure (SBM) as an inoculum and an organic load of 0,5 gSV/L day. A degradation of the organic matter of 96% was obtained, reaching a biogás production of 0,52 m3biogás/kgVS. Finally, a tubular reactor was implemented at 25 ° C in the batch state for a mixture of 70% CW and 30% BM, with an organic load of 0,5 gVS/L day and a ISR of 2,2 KgVSinoculum/kgVSsubstrate. The daily production of methane was measured.
