dc.description.abstract	Los Jardines botánicos han pasado de ser lugares estéticos a herramientas útiles para la investigación y la conservación de la diversidad. Con el fin de complementar el conocimiento etnobotánico sobre las especies conservadas en el jardín botánico “Un mundo en un Jardín”, se realizó una revisión bibliográfica en bibliotecas y bases de datos acerca del origen, estado de amenaza y usos. Se registraron 169 especies, de las cuales 135 útiles. En total se hallaron 1682 reportes de usos clasificados en 10 categorías y 57 subcategorías. Las familias con mayor reporte de uso fueron Asteraceae, Solanaceae y Lamiaceae. Las especies con mayor cantidad de reportes fueron Bixa orellana L., Carica papaya L., Coriandrum sativum L., Anonna muricata L. y Foeniculum vulgare Mill. La mayoría de las especies presentes en el jardín son de origen nativo y su estado de amenaza no se encuentra evaluado. Esta recopilación de usos podría ayudar a complementar las investigaciones que se llevan a cabo en el CENIVAM respecto al potencial biológico de las plantas, así como aportar a la conservación de algunas especies y a la sensibilización de la comunidad.
dc.description.abstractenglish	Botanical gardens have evolved from being aesthetic places to useful tools for research and conservation of diversity. In order to complement the ethnobotanical knowledge associated to the species cultivated in the botanic garden “Un mundo en un Jardín”, a bibliographic review was carried out in libraries and databases searching for the origin, threat status and uses. A total of 169 species was recorded, of which 135 reported as useful. Moreover, a total of 1682 use reports were found and classified in 10 categories and 57 subcategories. The families with the highest number of use reports were Asteraceae, Solanaceae and Lamiaceae. The species with the highest number of reports were Bixa Orellana L., Carica papaya L., Coriandrum sativum L., Anonna muricata L. and Foeniculum vulgare Mill. Most of the species present in the garden are native and their threat status has not been evaluated yet. This compilation of uses could help to complement the research activities carried out at CENIVAM regarding the biological potential of the plants, as well as being helpful for the conservation of some of the species, and awareness of the communities.
