dc.description.abstractLa Franja Mogotes-Onzaga, ubicada al suroeste del Macizo de Santander, ha sido objeto de varios estudios en las diversas áreas de las geociencias. El presente trabajo retoma y compila datos de publicaciones anteriores, y aporta nuevos datos mediante los cuales pretende aportar nuevos elementos que contribuyan al análisis de la evolución geológica del área de estudio. Más exactamente, el presente trabajo realiza un análisis estructural basado en datos tomados en campo, en el cual se ratifica el dominio estructural presente en la zona tanto actualmente como en periodos geológicos anteriores. De igual manera se estima preliminarmente la profundidad de la paleocorteza jurásica a partir de datos geoquímicos compilados, y se calcula el grado de madurez termal para 2 muestras de la Formación Floresta a partir de los índices de cristalinidad de illita y clorita. Además, se genera como producto final un mapa geológico y estructural integrado del área de estudio a escala 1:25000 que incorpora estudios petrográficos recientes y define la cinemática de las fallas principales.
dc.description.abstractenglishThe Mogotes-Onzaga Fringe, located southwest of the Santander Massif, has been the subject of several studies in different areas of geosciences. The present work retakes and compiles data from previous publications, and provides new data through which it intends to provide new elements that contribute to the analysis of the geological evolution of the study area. More precisely, the present work performs a structural analysis based on data taken in the field, which ratifies the structural domain present in the area both at present and in previous geological periods. Likewise, the depth of the Jurassic paleocrust is preliminarily estimated from compiled geochemical data, and the grade of thermal maturity is calculated for 2 samples of the Floresta Formation from the crystallinity indexes of illite and chlorite. In addition, an integrated geological and structural map of the study area at 1:25000 scale is generated as a final product, incorporating recent petrographic studies and defining the kinematics of the main faults.
