a regional erosion event is identified. Erosion extends to the Middle Eocene in the Serranía de la Macarena and the Yarí-Caguán Sub-basin. The Paleocene section is recognized in the Southwest of the Llanos Basin to the south of the Ariari River region. In the north of the Putumayo Basin the Paleocene section is bounded by the Florencia paleohigh. During the Early Eocene a second regional erosion event is recognized and another minor event of uplift of the Serrania de la Macarena. During this period the paleorelief was formed that controls the deposition of the Middle Eocene. During the Early Eocene the Florencia paleohigh continues as a barrier that separates the Yarí-Caguán Sub-basin and the north of the Putumayo Basin. The Middle Eocene is the first rock that extends continuously from the Llanos Basin to the Putumayo Basin. The influence exerted by the Serrania de la Macarena and the Paleoalto of Florence is erased and only affects the thickness of this interval.
