dc.description.abstract	Con el fin de facilitar la toma de decisiones en el diseño e implementación de medidas para la compensación y/o mitigación de dióxido de carbono en la atmosfera, se pretende realizar una estimación general de las emisiones producidas por los procesos relacionados con el funcionamiento y las actividades realizadas en la Universidad. Este análisis también nos permitirá determinar y establecer las actividades y procesos que tienen un mayor aporte para estimar la huella de carbono emitida por la Universidad Industrial de Santander en el año 2010. Dentro de la metodología se tomará en cuenta el efecto individual y combinado de variables como el gasto energético propio de la institución donde se considerará como fuente fija y la movilidad de sus integrantes principales donde se considerará como fuente móvil, desarrollando encuestas que servirán para cuantificar de forma flexible y sistemática el tipo de combustible utilizado por sus vehículos, desplazamientos debido a sus actividades dentro y fuera de la universidad durante el tiempo temporal del año 2010, al igual que conocer la cultura ambiental general. Los resultados de esta propuesta de investigación pueden aportar una base para el cambio de hábitos cotidianos mediante campañas institucionales específicas y proyectos para la siembra de vegetación con el fin de mitigar sus emisiones de CO2.
dc.description.abstractenglish	In this order to facilitate decision or making in the design and implementation of measures for compensation and /or mitigation of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, is intended as a rough to estimate of emissions from processes related to the operation and activities in the university. This analysis also allows us to determine and establish the activities and processes that have a greater contribution to estimate the carbon footprint emitted by the Industrial University of Santander in the year 2010. Within the methodology will take into account the individual and combined effects of variables such as energy expenditure itself from the institution where power is regarded as fixed and the mobility of its key members which shall be considered as mobile source, developing surveys that will be used to quantify flexible and systematic way the type of fuel used by their vehicles, travel due to their activities inside and outside the university during the temporal time of 2010, as well as meet the general environmental awareness. The results of this research proposal can make or begin to salve a basis for changing the daily habits of specific institutional campaigns and projects for the planting of vegetation to mitigate CO2 emissions in the university
