| dc.description.abstract | En la presente investigación se estudia la respuesta hidrológica de la cuenca del Ríode Oro ante eventos similares al ocurrido durante el periodo del 9 al 12 de Febrero de2005 y ante cambios en el uso del suelo. Además, se analiza la respuesta hidráulicade las estructuras de mitigación de inundaciones en función de la respuestahidrológica simulada. La investigación se inicia con un análisis de población según los censos hechos por elDepartamento Administrativo Nacional de Estadísticas (DANE) hasta 2005. A partir deesta información, se lleva a cabo una proyección de población del área metropolitanade Bucaramanga en los siguientes 30 años partiendo de 2006. Además, Con ayuda delos registros cartográficos de los Planes de Ordenamiento Territorial (POT), seplantean algunas hipótesis de desarrollo urbano. Sobre el desarrollo urbano se evalúael cambio en los coeficientes de escorrentía promedios para seis subcuencas queconforman sobre el río de Oro. Además, se hace un estudio de posibles distribucionesen el espacio con el evento de precipitación ocurrido en la cuenca del río de Oro enFebrero de 2005. Finalmente, se seleccionan las más representativas de las diferenteshipótesis agrupándolas en tres escenarios. Con estos escenarios y con un modelohidráulico del río de Oro en el software HEC-RAS 3.1.3. se lleva a cabo un análisis sela competencia de los muros construidos en los sectores de Arenales, ParqueGallineral, Malecón y Poblado para detener las inundaciones ante posibles eventosfuturos. Se puede concluir que el desarrollo urbano en la cuenca del río de Oro, por sí solo, norepresenta un peligro para el casco urbano de Girón, no obstante, ante eventos demagnitud similar con diferente distribución en el espacio se podrían llegar a presentarproblemas de rebosamientos de las estructuras de mitigación. | |
| dc.description.abstractenglish | The current investigation studies the hydrological response of the “Rio de Oro”watershed, withstanding similar events to the ones occurred during the 9" to the 12" ofFebruary of 2005 and introducing the impact of land-use change. Furthermore, thehydraulic response of the flood control structures is analyzed according to thesimulated hydrological response. The research begins with a population data analysis according to the census made bythe National Statistics Department (DANE), registered until the year 2005. With thisinformation, an estimate of the population located in the Metropolitan area ofBucaramanga is made for the next 30 years beginning in 2006. This, along with thecartographic records located in the Land-Use Planning Policies (POT), a series ofurban development hypotheses are proposed. The change in the average runoffcoefficient is evaluated for 6 different basins located in the Rio de Oro watershed. Also,a series of different spatial distributions of the event occurred in February 2005 areestablished. Finally, the most representative hypotheses are selected and grouped intothree different scenarios. A hydraulic model of the Rio de Oro River is then simulatedfor each scenario with the help of HEC-RAS 3.1.3, and the response of the differentflood control structures along the sectors of Arenales, Gallineral Park, Malecoén andPoblado, is evaluated. It can be concluded that urban development by itself in the Rio de Oro watershed,does not represent a latent danger in the urban area of Girén..
