dc.description.abstract	Santander en materia de competitividad y productividad laboral ha tenido un proceso tardío; por esa razón, se hace necesario crear mejoras que permitan encontrar y tomar la senda hacia el desarrollo productivo y la inserción económica global. Como una solución al escenario anterior, es pertinente hacer estudios que profundicen y contribuyan a implementar políticas que incrementen la eficiencia productiva del departamento desde la sofisticación y diversificación del aparato productivo. Este proyecto cuenta con un marco teórico que fundamenta la investigación, los objetivos a los que se quiere llegar con el desarrollo del proyecto, el planteamiento del problema que refleja la necesidad de realizar esta investigación, la metodología y el plan de trabajo implementado en el proyecto, el análisis de los resultados obtenidos para cada uno de los objetivos y finalmente una sección de conclusiones y recomendaciones para futuras investigaciones. Esta investigación está focalizada en el pilar de Sofisticación y Diversificación, presenta un análisis detallado en América Latina, Colombia y Santander en busca del diseño e implementación de instrumentos que orienten a la economía santandereana hacia los mercados con mayor potencial para la exportación de productos con alta intensidad tecnológica; además identifica los retos y oportunidades a los que se enfrenta el departamento para diversificar su canasta exportadora.
