dc.description.abstract	El presente trabajo de grado fue desarrollado en conjunto con la División de Servicios de Información, encargada de de administrar y desarrollar software que soporta el funcionamiento de la Universidad Industrial de Santander, y con la División de Bienestar Universitario. Este proyecto tiene como objetivo desarrollar un nuevo sistema de información para el servicio de comedores de Bienestar Universitario de la Universidad Industrial de Santander. La nueva plataforma está basada en el sistema anterior, pero lo reemplaza completamente. Además el nuevo sistema implementa varias características con las que no contaba el sistema anterior, y soluciona sus problemas de fragmentación en varios módulos inconexos, su baja eficiencia, su poca facilidad de uso y su escasa flexibilidad. El nuevo sistema funciona en un ambiente completamente Web, lo cual permite a cualquiera de sus usuarios, desde sus administradores hasta los beneficiarios del servicio de comedores, ejecutarlo desde cualquier navegador de Internet. dc.description.abstractenglish	The present project was developed in joint Information Services Division, a branch in charge of managing and developing the software that supports operations of the Industrial University of Santander, and with the Institutional Welfare Division. This projeinformation system for the dining room service provided by the Institutional Welfare division of the Industrial University of Santander. The new platform is based on the previous system, but it will replace it completely. It also implements several new features that were absent in the previous system, and solves its problems of fragmentation in various disconnected modules, its low efficiency, its sparse ease of use, and its lack of flexibility and scalability. The new system operates in a completely web environment and on a single platform, which allows any of its users, from administrators to the recipients of the dining hall service, to use the software from any internet browser. Like all software developed by the Information Services Division of the Industrial University of Santander, the project is developed respecting its standards of quality and efficiency; and also using advanced technologies which ensure the robustness, scalability and cohesion in the information systems of the Industrial University of Santander.
