dc.description.abstract	La cartografía geológica de la Vereda El Volcán, en el Municipio de Vetas, en el departamento de Santander. Fue la Empresa Minera Reina de Oro quien permitió por medio de este trabajo identificar las diferentes litologías presentes en la zona. Se encontraron rocas metamórficas tales como: neis y migmatitas pertenecientes al Neis de Bucaramanga (Precámbrico), rocas ígneas graníticas de edad Triásico-Jurásico denominadas tonalitas y dacitas de textura porfirítica (Neógeno) y por último; depósitos de tipo coluvión y filones hidrotermales mineralizados con oro. Apoyados en los diversos trabajos anteriores, el trabajo de campo y en la toma de datos estructurales de las fallas y de los filones mineralizados, se identificó una orientación preferencial NE para este tipo de estructuras, que posiblemente están influenciadas por un control estructural ejercido por la falla San Antonio, ya que tienen la misma orientación. Para tener mayor precisión respecto al tipo de roca, se realizaron análisis macroscópicos y microscópicos de dichas muestras colectadas y como producto final de este estudio, se elaboró un mapa geológico, donde se diferenciaron las litologías presentes en el área de la vereda el volcán (Empresa Minera Reina de Oro) a escala 1:2000 y se ubicaron claramente las fallas, litologías y filones.
dc.description.abstractenglish	The geological cartography in the Vereda El Volcan, in the municipality of Vetas, in the department of Santander, It was the Reina de Oro mining company, who allowed this work by identifying the different lithologies present in the área. Metamorphic rocks such as found: gneiss and migmatites that belong to the Neis de Bucaramanga (Precambrian), Triassic-Jurassic granitic igneous rocks known like tonalites and dacites with porphyritic texture (Neogene) and finally, deposits of colluvium type and hydrothermal veins mineralized with gold. Supported by various previous work, fieldwork and in making structural data of faults and mineralized veins, a preferential orientation NE for such structures, which are possibly influenced by a structural control exerted identified by San Antonio fault, since they have the same orientation. To be more precise about the type of rock, macroscopic and microscopic analysis of these collected samples were made and the final product of this study, a geological map, where differentiated lithologies present in the zone of the vereda El Volcan (Reina de Oro Mining company) at 1: 2000 and clearly placed faults, lithologies and veins mineralized.
