dc.description.abstract	El plan de ahorro y uso eficiente del agua, es un proyecto que estableció el gobierno colombiano mediante el decreto de la ley 373 de 1997 para la protección y preservación de un recurso vital, el agua. Por este motivo, en Tona un municipio de Santander cuya cabecera se encuentra ubicada a 37 Km de Bucaramanga, se llevo a cabo dicho plan con el objetivo de cumplir con los principios establecidos por la legislación nacional, y así mismo ayudar en brindar una mejor calidad de vida para los habitantes de la región. Este documento contiene la descripción y el diagnosticó actual de la planta de tratamiento de potabilización de agua y la red de distribución, donde se evalúa el estado de cada una de las unidades de los procesos y las falencias que presentan los mismos en su funcionamiento. Con la información recopilada, el análisis de la situación actual y haciendo una proyección futura de 25 años se hace la evaluación técnica de la funcionalidad de los componentes del sistema de acueducto y el modelamiento de la red de distribución en el software EPANET para determinar la calidad del servicio desde la captación en la fuente hasta la entrega a los usuarios del casco urbano. A partir de esto, se plantean soluciones técnicas administrativas y de sensibilización para mejorar la infraestructura de las unidades y se adiciona un sistema de información geográfica que se convierten en herramientas para brindar un óptimo servicio y hacer del acueducto del municipio de Tona un sistema controlado y eficiente.
dc.description.abstractenglish	The savings plan and efficient use of water, is a project that established the Colombian government by the law decree 373 of 1997 for the protection and preservation of a vital resource, water. For this reason, in Tona, a municipality of Santander whose head is located 37 km away from Bucaramanga in the eastern part of the Republic of Colombia was carried out this plan in order to comply with the principles established by national legislation and likewise, help providing a better life quality for the inhabitants of the region. This document contains the description and the current diagnosis of the treatment plant and the potable water distribution system. The state review of each process unit and the failures they show on their operation are also shown in the diagnosis. With the information gathered, the analysis of the current situation and the 25 years future projection done, the technical evaluation of the functionality of the aqueduct components and the distribution network modeling, using EPANET software, are done in order to determine the service quality from the collection at source to the delivery process for urban users. From this study, technical, administrative and sensitizing solutions are proposed to improve the infrastructure of the units, provide an excellent service and help in saving and the efficient use of water. Finally, the conclusions of the results are presented and a geographic information system is added. This information system becomes a tool that would help in the process of keeping Tona’s aqueduct as a controlled and efficient system.
