dc.description.abstract	El proyecto pretende mostrar la dinámica en materia de productividad y competitividad del sector cacao en el departamento de Santander en un lapso de tiempo aproximado entre 1992 Œ 2004, por medio de una serie de indicadores, los cuales son resultado de las relaciones entre las variables proporcionadas por la EAM del DANE. El análisis del sector del cacao se establecerá en el departamento de Santander debido a que este en el principal productor a nivel nacional. Para alcanzar los objetivos establecidos en el trabajo se profundizó en la lectura de los principales autores del Desarrollo Local, y su relación con los planteamientos básicos de productividad y competitividad, con el fin de contar con las herramientas adecuadas para la formulación del proyecto. Además, se examinaron los diferentes acuerdos de competitividad para el sector que se han implementado en los últimos años, así como las instituciones de apoyo con las que se cuenta para estimular y fortalecer la dinámica de este. De igual manera, el diagnóstico del sector requirió la recopilación de información de la economía regional proporcionada por las entidades de desarrollo empresarial, así como organizar y deflactar los datos suministrados por el DANE para realizar los respectivos análisis. Finalmente, el estudio realizado permitió observar que el sector Cacao en Santander enfrenta actualmente dificultades en materia de plantaciones, maquinaria y equipo, mano de obra, nivel tecnológico, entre otros, a pesar de la creación e implementación de diversas políticas nacionales para el fomento del sector. Sin embargo, es importante mencionar que se está trabajando actualmente en un macroproyecto que pretende mejorar todos los indicadores de productividad para llevar al departamento a los niveles de crecimiento presentados en años anteriores.
dc.description.abstractenglish	This Project pretends to demonstrate the dynamic in the material of the productivity and competitiveness of the cocoa sector in the department of Santander is a lapse of time approximately between 1992-2004, between a series of indicators, which are results of the relationships between the variables proportioned by the EAM of DANE, The analysis of the cocoa sector will be establish in the department of Santander due to this is the main product at national level. To reach the objectives established in the project, it immerses in the lecture of the principal authors of the local development, and their relationship with the basic proposal of the productivity and competiveness, therefore to tell with the proper tools for the formulation of the project. Therefore, it was examined according to the differences of the competitiveness of the sector that has been implanted in the last few years, like the support of the institutions that counts with stimulating and fertilizing the dynamic of it. In the same way, the diagnostic of the sector required the compiled information of the regional economy proportioned by the commerce firm of the company development, that way how to organize and deflect the summoned data by the DANE to realize the respective analysis. Finally, the study realized permitted to observe with cocoa sector in Santander confronts actually the difficulties in the proposal materials, machinery, and equipment, manpower, level of technology, among others, despite the creation and implantation of the diverse national politics for the formation of the sector. Therefore, it is important to mention that they have been working in a macro project that pretends to better all the indicators of production to take the department to levels of growth presented in the past years. 3
