dc.description.abstract	El presente trabajo de grado tiene como principal objetivo realizar la caracterización empresarial de la industria manufacturera en Santander para el periodo comprendido entre 1991-2006, por medio de los datos de una serie de variables suministradas por la Cámara de Comercio de Bucaramanga. El análisis expone los diferentes tamaños que tienen las empresas en Santander, así como su evolución y participación. Para alcanzar los objetivos establecidos en el trabajo se profundiza en la lectura de los principales antecedentes que precedieron el actual comportamiento de la industria en Colombia. Además, se examina las diferentes políticas creadas para estimular y fortalecer la dinámica del sector industrial en los últimos periodos. Finalmente, se realiza un análisis de la estructura económica del departamento de Santander sustentada en variables como el Producto Interno Bruto (PIB), el PIB Per Capita, y su respectiva participación en el total nacional. Los resultados revelan principalmente que la estructura económica del departamento de Santander, se basa en el sector terciario y presenta una débil capacidad industrial. Además, esta industria se encuentra conformada en un 86% por empresas de tamaño micro, las cuales principalmente se encuentran dedicadas a la elaboración de productos alimenticios y de bebidas, a la fabricación de prendas de vestir, preparado y teñido de piel y al curtido y preparado de cueros, fabricación de calzado y fabricación artículos de cuero.
dc.description.abstractenglish	The present degree work has as primary objective to do the enterprise characterization of the manufacturing industry in Santander in the period between 1991 Œ 2006, ussing the data from a series of variables supplied by the comerce chamber of Bucaramanga. The analisis exposses the diferent sizes that the enterprises have in Santander, as such as their evolution and participation. To reach the objectives establiched in this work it deepens in the reading of the main background that preceded the actual behavior of the industries in Colombia. Also, the diferent politics created to estimulate and strengthen the industrial sector dinamics in the last periods are examinated. Finaly, an analizis of the economic structure of the state of Santander sustained in variables as the Raw internal product (RIP), the RIP Per Capita, and its respecitve participation in the nation overall total. The results reveal primeraly that the economic structure of the state of Santander, is based in the terciary sector and presents a week industrial capacity. Also, this industry is conformed in an 86% by enterpises of micro size, wich mainly are dedicatedto the elaboration of drinks and food products, the manufacturing of clothing, dye and preparation of leather, fabrication of shoes and leather articles
