dc.description.abstract	La grave condición actual del medio ambiente, producto de la sobreexplotación humana, es uno de los eventos que pueden encontrar su causa en la creencia en la primacía del Homo sapiens sobre los demás seres vivos. Al reconocer las justificaciones especistas que hacemos cotidianamente para defender la prioridad de unas vidas sobre otras, encuentro necesaria una reformulación de los conceptos que promueven daño a otras especies en pro de intereses humanos no siempre en función de la vida. Situar al humano en un mundo cuyos habitantes poseen intereses comunes permite cuestionar la creencia en la dignidad inherente y única de su especie. Con este objetivo, he decidido hacer una lectura de la propuesta que Peter Singer elabora para alterar el uso corriente del concepto dignidad, en su defensa por los derechos y la liberación de los animales. Para ello será menester abordar su obra Liberación animal y los ensayos sobre ética compilados en el libro Desacralizar la vida humana, entre otros escritos de su autoría. Creo que, a partir de estudios similares a los realizados por Peter Singer, se puede llegar a una nueva manera de establecer relaciones en el mundo, con el esbozo de una propuesta ética que posibilite cambios en la manera como el humano ve los ecosistemas, en respuesta a los angustiantes desafíos que enfrenta el mundo en la actualidad.
dc.description.abstractenglish	The current serious condition of the environment, a product of human overexploitation, is one of the events that can find its cause in the belief on the primacy of Homo sapiens over other living beings. When recognizing the speciesist justifications that we make on a daily basis to defend the priority of some lives over others, I find it necessary to reformulate the concepts that promote harm to other species in favor of human interests not always based on life. Placing man in a world whose inhabitants have shared interests makes it possible to question the belief in the inherent and unique dignity of the human species. With this in mind, I offer a reading of the proposal that Peter Singer elaborates to alter our current use of the concept dignity, in his defense for the rights and liberation of animals. For this, it will be necessary to address his work Animal liberation and the essays on ethics compiled in the book Desacralize human life, among other writings of his authorship. I believe that, based on studies similar to those carried out by Peter Singer, a new way of establishing relationships in the world can be arrived at, with the outline of an ethical proposal that enables changes in the way humans see ecosystems, in answers to the harrowing challenges facing the world today.
