dc.description.abstract	Actualmente el proceso de aprovisionamiento se ha convertido en un pilar para la creación de ventajas competitivas, este permite garantizar la calidad, precio y diversidad de productos, por ello es fundamental conocer cómo se desarrolla dicho proceso en la ciudad de Bucaramanga. Por medio de la presente investigación se busca conocer las prácticas usadas actualmente en el proceso de aprovisionamiento por parte de las empresas fabricantes de calzado y marroquinería afiliadas a la Asociación Colombiana del calzado, cuero y sus manufacturas Acicam. Para ello, se consideró importante estudiar también a las empresas proveedoras de materias primas, materiales e insumos afiliadas a la asociación de peleteros de Colombia Aspecol. La investigación es de tipo exploratoria y descriptiva, y la información se recopiló por medio de técnicas cuantitativas y cualitativas. El marco muestral se obtuvo por medio de muestreo aleatorio simple para las empresas fabricantes de calzado y marroquinería, y un muestreo por conveniencia para las empresas proveedoras de materias primas, materiales e insumos. Se pudo apreciar con el análisis de los resultados obtenidos, un leve avance en cuanto al proceso de aprovisionamiento en el área de almacenamiento respecto a un estudio previo (Gómez & Maldonado 2007); a pesar de esto, en las empresas del sector calzado se hace necesario implementar de mejoras operativas que permitan a las empresas ser competitivas en el entorno nacional e internacional.
