dc.description.abstract	Los batallones de ingenieros son los encargados de realizar todo lo relacionado con reparaciones, mantenimientos y obras nuevas en las instalaciones de la brigada a la cuál corresponden. Son instituciones que están dispuestas como cualquier otro batallón a proteger al estado y prestar seguridad a la comunidad pero adicionalmente están dispuestas a brindar apoyo en diferentes situaciones, como eventualidades climatológicas (con maquinaria, personal técnico y personal de apoyo) y también prestando asesorías con personal capacitado en las áreas de la construcción que pueden apoyar la resolución de múltiples necesidades que específicamente comunidades rurales presentan, comunidades que están identificadas y asignadas a una correspondiente brigada dentro de las diferentes unidades militares. La práctica social tuvo una duración de cuatro meses, en los cuales se brindó apoyo principalmente a actividades realizadas en el cantón militar de la Quinta Brigada ubicado en la ciudad de Bucaramanga; actividades que involucraban supervisión de obras, apoyo en la elaboración de registros fotográficos, realización de informes y construcción de presupuestos para algunos proyectos de mantenimiento que requerían ser ejecutados. Las actividades que se realizaron y las que se proyectaron a ejecutar, iban encaminadas a mejorar las condiciones de infraestructura para el personal que hace uso continuo de las instalaciones del batallón.
dc.description.abstractenglish	The engineering battalions are in charge of carrying out everything related to repairs, maintenance and new works in the facilities of the brigade to which they correspond. They are institutions that are willing like any other battalion to protect the state and provide security to the community but additionally they are willing to provide support in different situations, such as weather contingencies or environmental emergencies (with machinery, technical personnel and support staff) and also providing advice with trained personnel in the areas of construction that can support the resolution of multiple needs that specifically rural communities present, communities that are identified and assigned to a corresponding brigade within the different military units. The social practice lasted four months, during which time support was provided mainly to activities carried out in the military canton of the Fifth Brigade located in the city of Bucaramanga; activities that involved work supervision, support in the elaboration of photographic records, preparation of reports and construction of budgets for some maintenance projects that needed to be executed. The activities that were carried out and those that were projected to be executed were aimed at improving the infrastructure conditions for the personnel that makes continuous use of the battalion's facilities.
