dc.description.abstract	El objetivo principal de la realización del proyecto de grado, es determinar la viabilidad de producir y comercializar el destilador rural de aceites esenciales, que fue diseñado en la Universidad Industrial de Santander con el apoyo y supervisión del Centro Nacional de Investigaciones para la Agroindustrialización de Especies Vegetales Aromáticas Medicinales Tropicales (CENIVAM). Dentro de este trabajo, se hace en primera medida un análisis del entorno macro y micro para el sector metalmecánico, seguido de un análisis del mercado con el fin de determinar la demanda potencial para los destiladores. En tercer lugar, se hace un análisis técnico donde se plantean las principales formas de producción y/o comercialización, y además se profundiza en el proceso de fabricación. Posteriormente, se plantea un análisis administrativo, un análisis legal del sector metalmecánico y de la normatividad interna de la UIS, una evaluación del impacto social y ambiental del proceso de fabricación, y un análisis financiero donde se evalúan las diferentes alternativas de producción y comercialización, definiendo la más conveniente para la Universidad. Por último, se establecen las estrategias de direccionamiento a través del modelo Canvas, para la alternativa de producción y comercialización más rentable, resultado del análisis financiero; y adicionalmente se hace un estudio de preselección de mercados internacionales, para determinar cuáles países podrían ser potencialmente atractivos para la venta del destilador, especialmente en Latinoamérica.
dc.description.abstractenglish	The main objective for the realization of this graduation project, is to determinate the viability to produce and commercialize the rural distiller of essential oils, that was designed in Industrial University of Santander supported and supervised by the National Research Centre for the Agro-Industrialization of Tropical Medicinal Aromatic Plant Species (CENIVAM). In this paper, the first step is to analyze the macro and micro environment of the metalworking sector, followed by a market study to determinate de potential demand for the distillers. In the third place, a technical analysis is made to propose the main possible ways to produce and/or commercialize, and deepen into the process of fabrication. Later, we present an administrative analysis, a legal analysis of the metalworking sector and the internal regulations of the University, an assessment of the social and environmental impact of the manufacturing process and a financial analysis where the different possibilities for production and commercialization are evaluated, defining which of them is the most convenient for the University. Finally, addressing strategies of a production unit are established using the Canvas model for the alternative for production and commercialization more profitable, as a result from the financial analysis; additionally, an international market preselection study, to determine which countries would be potentially attractive for the distillers’ selling, especially in Latin America.
