dc.description.abstract	La vía California La Baja en el Municipio de California, Santander; presenta en varios sectores taludes de alta pendiente con alto grado de fracturamiento que han provocado deslizamientos y caídas de bloques de rocas años atrás. Dichos fenómenos ha traído como consecuencia pérdidas económicas, la incomunicación con la zona minera del municipio y con las veredas La Baja y Angosturas, incluso esto representa un riesgo para la comunidad donde ya ha cobrado vidas en el pasado. Por lo expuesto anteriormente, surge la necesidad de realizar el presente proyecto de grado en la modalidad práctica empresarial en la empresa Sociedad Minera de Santander S.A.S, donde se llevó a cabo el proceso de caracterización geotécnica y análisis de estabilidad para el talud ubicado en el sector Tronadora. Este estudio consta de cuatro etapas, en la primera se realiza una recopilación bibliográfica de la zona y el tema de estudio, también incluye una capacitación en geotecnia para el reconocimiento de parámetros geotécnicos; la segunda es la etapa de campo donde se hace el registro de los parámetros por medios de mapeos geotécnicos para la caracterización del macizo rocoso. En la tercera etapa, las muestras de roca intacta son llevadas al laboratorio para realizarles ensayos de carga puntual para determinar las propiedades mecánicas de la roca. Y en la cuarta etapa consiste en los trabajos de oficina, con la información recogida en las etapas anteriores se emplean los softwares Dips, Slide, Swedge de Rocscience para los análisis y modelamientos del talud, de esta forma se determina las zonas de mayor riesgo de inestabilidad y se propone adicionar pernos de anclaje para la estabilización del talud. Posteriormente se presentan las conclusiones y recomendaciones de este estudio.
dc.description.abstractenglish	The California - Baja route in the Municipality of California, Santander; It presents in several sectors slopes of high slope with a high degree of fracturing that have caused landslides and falls of rock blocks years ago. These phenomena have resulted in economic losses, the lack of communication with the mining area of the municipality and the trails of La Baja and Angosturas, even this represents a risk to the community where it has already claimed lives in the past. Due to the foregoing, there is a need to carry out the present project of a degree in the practical business modality in Sociedad Minera de Santander SAS, where the process of geotechnical characterization and stability analysis for the slope located in the sector was carried out Tronadora. This study consists of four stages, in the first a bibliographic compilation of the zone and the subject of study is carried out, it also includes a geotechnical training for the recognition of geotechnical parameters; the second is the field stage where the parameters are recorded by means of geotechnical maps for the characterization of the rock mass. In the third stage, intact rock samples are taken to the laboratory for spot load tests to determine the mechanical properties of the rock. And in the fourth stage consists of office work, with the information collected in the previous stages, the software Dips, Slide, Swedge of Rocscience is used for the analysis and modeling of the slope, in this way the areas of greatest risk of instability and it is proposed to add anchor bolts for the stabilization of the slope. Subsequently, the conclusions and recommendations of this study are presented.
