| dc.description.abstract | El lavado se hace invirtiendo el sentido de flujo en el filtro, inyectando agua por la parte inferior y recolectándola en la parte superior. Este retrolavado hace que el medio se expanda dentro de un lapso de tiempo, de tal forma que el material retenido sea arrastrado y así lograr una limpieza. Esta expansión depende fundamentalmente de la velocidad de lavado, granulometría del lecho, forma y densidad de los granos y de la temperatura del agua. Las expresiones que relacionan los procesos hidrodinámicos de lavado de los medios filtrantes están gobernados por la naturaleza de las condiciones de flujo, sin embargo el poco entendimiento de los procesos hidrodinámicos (principalmente la determinación del régimen de flujo) durante la fluidización de medios filtrantes es una de las causas mas frecuentes en las fallas durante la operación de filtros y éstos pueden presentar errores, por lo cual las plantas de tratamiento de agua potable construidas bajo dichas apreciaciones teóricas pudieran presentar problemas tales como: malgasto de agua durante el proceso de lavado lo cual acarrea desperdicio del liquido vital tan necesario en esta época y últimamente escaso; o el sobre diseño de los tanques de filtración y por ende costos posiblemente innecesarios. | |
| dc.description.abstractenglish | The wash is made investing the sense of flow in the filter, injecting water for the inferior part andgathering it in the superior part. This retrowash makes that the sand-bed expands inside a lapse oftime, in such a way that the retained material is dragged and this way to achieve a cleaning. Thisexpansion depends fundamentally on the wash speed, grain of the channel, forms and density ofthe grains and of the temperature of the water.
