dc.description.abstract	La internacionalización es el proceso de integrar una dimensión internacional, intercultural, dentro del propósito, las funciones y la entrega de la educación superior (Knight, 2015). Aunque este concepto no es nuevo, la educación en el mundo ha sido sacudida de manera repentina debido a las circunstancias actuales derivadas de la pandemia por el COVID-19. Tanto instituciones, como profesores y estudiantes han sido puestos a prueba ante una crisis que ha transformado la formación académica y esto ha dado pie a una importante visión moderna de lo que promete ser la educación en el futuro. Teniendo en cuenta lo anterior, el presente proyecto tiene como objetivo desarrollar un Programa de Intercambio Virtual, con el cual se pretende contribuir a la promoción de la internacionalización en la Universidad Industrial de Santander, al permitirle a la comunidad UIS introducirse en entornos globales que estimulen el desarrollo de competencias interculturales para que puedan convertirse en ciudadanos del mundo con una perspectiva crítica frente al entorno actual, lo que a su vez, posibilite responder a los desafíos, necesidades y expectativas generadas por la nueva normalidad. La metodología utilizada para la realización de este proyecto consta de 3 fases: diagnóstico (revisión bibliográfica y diagnóstico interno y externo), formulación (Diseño del programa) e implementación (plan de acción y socialización de la propuesta). Para lo anterior, se revisaron diversas modalidades de Intercambio Virtual, se evaluaron las opciones aplicables a la UIS y, finalmente, se eligieron las que mejor se adaptaban a esta. Como resultado se obtuvo el programa ConnectUIS (Intercambio Virtual), el cual está conformado por tres modalidades: Global e-CLASS (Clase espejo), COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) y Aulas Virtuales. Finalmente, se evidenció el interés de la UIS en el desarrollo del programa e implementación de nuevas estrategias para el fortalecimiento de la internacionalización y mejoramiento de la calidad de sus programas.
dc.description.abstractenglish	Internationalization is about integrating an international, intercultural dimension into the purpose, functions and delivery of higher education (Knight, 2015). Although this concept is not new, education in the world has been suddenly shaken due to the current circumstances derived from the COVID-19 pandemic. Both institutions, teachers and students have been put to the test in the facing a crisis that has transformed academic training and given rise to an important modern vision of what education promises to be in the future. Taking into account the above, this project aims to develop a Virtual Exchange Program, with which it is intended to contribute to the promotion of internationalization at UIS, by allowing UIS community to enter global environments that stimulate the development of intercultural skills so that they can become world citizens with a critical perspective on the current environment, that at the same time , makes possible to respond to the challenges, needs and expectations generated for the new normality. The methodology used to carry out this project consists in 3 phases: diagnosis (bibliographic review and internal and external diagnosis), formulation (program design) and implementation (action plan and socialization of the proposal). For the above, various Virtual Exchange modalities were carried out, the options applicable to the university were evaluated and, finally the ones adapted better to it were chosen. As a result, the program called ConnectUIS (Virtual Exchange) program was obtained, which is made up of three modalities: Global e-CLASS (Mirror Class), COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) and Virtual Classrooms. Finally, the university showed interest in the development of the program and the implementation of new strategies for strengthening internationalization and improving the quality of its programs was evidenced.
