dc.description.abstract	La articulación necesaria hoy día de la academia con el sector empresarial, con la comunidad en general y con el mundo ha motivado a las universidades de este y otros países a enfocar sus esfuerzos en las actividades de investigación realizadas al interior de las instituciones educativas; es por esto que después de recolectar información secundaria en algunos países del mundo sobre las principales actividades realizadas sobre creación de empresas a partir de productos de investigación en las Universidades, se construyó un marco teórico sólido que contextualizara la situación actual frente al tema de spin off académica. Posterior a este punto, se identificó la situación actual de la Universidad en el ámbito jurídico para conocer las limitantes y normatividad vigente, y de esta forma se pudo realizar el trabajo de campo a través de la técnica de encuesta a una muestra significativa de profesores de planta de la institución con el fin de obtener la información relacionada al perfil del profesor investigador UIS que tiene la intención de crear spin off académica. Esto nos lleva a identificar las características que a la fecha los profesores consideran como importantes en el perfil mencionado, así como también nos presenta algunas relaciones interesantes entre características del perfil como son la edad, el género, la experiencia docente, la vocación, el nivel de estudio, características en cuanto al ser, al hacer y al saber, todas éstas comparadas según la intención que ha tenido ó que no ha tenido de crear empresa o frente a aquellos investigadores que ya han creado empresa anteriormente. Los resultados permiten invitar a la Universidad a definir sus próximos pasos en el tema de creación de spin off académica y así identificar oportunidades de mejora a los procedimientos vigentes en la Universidad.
dc.description.abstractenglish	Articulating required today academia with industry, the community and the world has motivated universities of this and other countries to focus their efforts in research activities within these educational institutions; this is why after collecting secondary information in some countries of the world on the main activities on entrepreneurship from product research in universities, a solid theoretical framework that contextualize the current situation facing the theme was built off spin academic . After this point, the current status of the University in the legal field for the identified constraints and regulations in force, and thus could be performed fieldwork through the survey technique to a significant sample of teachers plant of the institution to obtain information related researcher profile UIS professor who intends to create academic spin off to . This leads us to identify the characteristics that to date teachers consider as important in the listing above, and also presents some interesting relationships between profile characteristics such as age, gender, teaching experience, vocation, level study characteristics as to be, to do and say all these compared according to the intention that has had or has not had to create business or facing researchers who have already established company before. The results allow the University to invite define its next steps in the field of academic spin off creation and identify opportunities to improve existing procedures at the University.
