dc.description.abstract	Considerando el fortalecimiento del crecimiento urbano que se empezó a experimentar de modo general en Colombia, principalmente desde la década de 1960, el presente trabajo busca analizar la manera en la que fue registrada en la prensa nacional el proceso de urbanización en Colombia durante la primera mitad de la década de 1980. Simultáneamente, se indaga acerca de los principales actores involucrados en el proceso de crecimiento urbano, haciendo énfasis en los barrios como unidad básica de registro, así como la identificación de las ciudades o núcleos urbanos en los que el periódico El Tiempo fijó mayoritariamente su atención, todo ello sin distanciarnos o abstraernos del contexto histórico de crisis económica y social por la cual estaba atravesando el país para la década de 1980.
dc.description.abstractenglish	Considering the strengthening of the urban growth that began to be experienced in general in Colombia, mainly since the 1960s, the present work seeks to analyze the way in which the urbanization process in Colombia was recorded in the national press during the first half of the 1980s. Simultaneously, its inquiries about the main actors involved in the urban growth process, emphasizing the neighborhoods as the basic unit of registration, as well as the identification of the cities or urban centers in which the newspaper El Tiempo focused its attention. All this without distancing we or abstracting ourselves from the historical context of economic and social crisis that the country was going through in the 1980s.
