dc.description.abstractEl objetivo del presente proyecto es realizar un aporte académico a la escuela de ingeniería mecánica, a partir de la recopilación de la información necesaria para el diseño de un prototipo de bomba de flujo mixto y su posterior construcción con la finalidad de realizar los ensayos pertinentes a la caracterización de una bomba centrífuga. Dentro del proyecto se realizaron una serie de etapas, iniciando por la búsqueda detallada de libros y artículos que ofrecieran la información necesaria para el diseño de bombas de flujo mixto, siendo estas el caso intermedio entre una bomba radial y axial. La segunda etapa se caracterizó por la realización del diseño detallado del impulsor, voluta y eje, que finalmente culminaron en los planos de las piezas previamente mencionadas. En la tercera etapa se fabricaron o se seleccionaron los elementos pertenecientes a una bomba centrífuga. Finalmente se realiza el armado de la bomba y del banco para la realización de las pruebas de funcionamiento para caracterizar el comportamiento de la carga hidráulica realizada por la bomba, su potencia consumida, la eficiencia de la transformación de energía eléctrica a hidráulica al fluido y los requerimientos en la succión de la bomba a diferentes puntos en su curva de operación.
dc.description.abstractenglishThe objective of this project is to make an academic contribution to the mechanical engineering school, by the gathering of the related information necessary to design a prototype of a mixed-flow pump and later its construction with the objective of doing the relevant tests to the characterization of a water pump. This project was carried out in several stages, starting with a detailed search of engineering books and articles that could offer the needed information for the design of a mixed-flow pump, being these pumps the middle case between a centrifugal-flow pump and an axial-flow pump. The second stage is characterized by the making of the detailed design of the impeller, the volute and the shaft, this stage ended with the making of the respective drawings. In the third stage the components of the water pumps were fabricated or obtained from local vendors. Finally, the pump and the testing bank are built to proceed with the operation test to characterize transformation efficiency of the electric energy into hydraulic energy to the fluid and the .
