dc.description.abstractEl agua es un recurso indispensable para todos los seres vivos, es fuente de vida y tiene innumerables usos, es por esto que se debe garantizar su cuidado, protección y conservación, ya que es fuente de vida y de abastecimiento de la población por medio de los acueductos. Sin embargo, el panorama nacional en cuanto al promedio de Municipios que presentan plantas de tratamiento de agua potable es del 60% y de estas solo opera el 70%. Por esto se hace necesario entrar a evaluar la operación y funcionamiento de las unidades y procesos de las plantas de tratamiento para optimizar el servicio y mejorar la calidad de vida. En este estudio se realizó un diagnóstico preliminar de la planta de tratamiento de agua potable del municipio de Cerrito-Santander donde se inició con una inspección visual y se siguió la ficha de evaluación del Instituto CEPIS/OPS. Se encontró en este estudio que las unidades en estado más crítico y que necesitan ser evaluadas de manera específica son la mezcla rápida y la desinfección. Además en cuanto al Índice de Riesgo de la Calidad del agua para consumo Humano- IRCA, en este Municipio se encontró que se encuentra clasificada en un valor medio de riesgo, por lo cual, debe ejecutar acciones inmediatas para corregir las causas y poder optimizar el funcionamiento de esta planta de tratamiento de agua.
dc.description.abstractenglishWater is an essential resource for all living beings, it is source of life and has innumerable uses, and this is why its care, protection and conservation must be guaranteed as it is also a source of supply for population through water supply systems. However, the national outlook in terms of average of municipalities with potable water treatment plants is 60% and only 70% of them operate. For this reason, it is necessary to evaluate the operation and performance of the units and processes inside the treatment plants to optimize service and improving the quality of life. In this study it was conducted a preliminary diagnosis of potable water treatment plant in the municipality of Cerrito-Santander starting with a visual inspection guided by the CEPIS / OPS Institute's scorecard. It was found in this study that the units in most critical condition and with the need to be evaluated specifically are the rapid mixing, and disinfection. Furthermore, regarding the Risk Index of potable water quality -IRCA-, it was found that this municipality is classified in an average value of risk; therefore, immediate actions to correct the causes and to optimize the functioning of this water treatment plant must be implemented.
