dc.description.abstractenglish | The BIM (Building Information Modeling) methodology has become a key tool for collaborative work in construction, reducing rework and improving coordination among project stakeholders. However, its adoption in micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MiPymes) faces significant challenges, such as high costs for licenses, hardware, and training, resistance to organizational change, and low client demand. This work aims to establish two cloud-based technological tools for the control and monitoring of construction projects in Bucaramanga, promoting an accessible common data environment (CDE) for MiPymes. The research was developed in four phases. First, information was gathered on the adoption of BIM and construction project control methods at the global, national, and local levels through database searches and analysis of the 2023 national BIM survey. Second, critical factors hindering BIM adoption in MiPymes were identified, and strategies to overcome them were proposed. Third, technological tools for the CDE were selected using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP), and BIM software and formats were analyzed. Finally, a case study was conducted on a project using Plexos Project, applying the Earned Value Management (EVM) methodology along with a classification system based on ColombiaClass. The results identified SharePoint (in its Standard and Basic plans) and Google Drive as the most suitable tools for MiPymes, due to their accessibility and integration capabilities. The main challenges identified include the lack of financial and technical resources, as well as limited BIM training. The EVM method was highlighted as an effective strategy for integrating cost, time, and actual project progress in construction control. It is concluded that the proposed tools enable MiPymes to implement a functional and affordable common data environment, and that the EVM method optimizes project control, aligning with the capabilities of these companies. This work provides practical solutions to overcome barriers to BIM adoption and establishes a foundation for future research on digitalization and efficiency in the construction sector.
