| dc.description.abstract | Durante años, la Escuela de Enfermería de la Universidad Industrial de Santander había postergado la realización de una aplicación que le permitiera entrar en la red y participar de la construcción de una comunidad más allá del espacio físico que la contiene; Pequeños intentos por realizar aplicaciones que le permitieran agilizar su contacto con la comunidad, fuente principal de sus desarrollos, son antecesores a la realización de esta herramienta. El Sitio Web de la Escuela de Enfermería es la cristalización de esfuerzos y busca atacar varias falencias detectadas en su interior por sus miembros como la escasa visibilidad en la comunidad académica de su área, dificultad para exponer sus tesis frente al desarrollo de la profesión, el poco impacto y difusión de sus desarrollos y un limitado contacto de su comunidad y con su comunidad. Se buscó además mantener contacto con sus egresados, puente real entre la academia y la sociedad en los campos de acción de la carrera. La dificultad para brindar apoyo bibliográfico a los miembros de su comunidad es otro aspecto intervenido. No se puede construir comunidad si ésta no posee espacios de intervención que permita hacer suya la Escuela, donde ser partícipes de primer orden en el desarrollo global de un proyecto, donde ser actor principal y tener puntos de contacto más allá de la pasividad de simple espectador. El sitio Web de la Escuela de Enfermería de la Universidad Industrial de Santander se desarrolló bajo la arquitectura de tres capas y herramientas de libre distribución y código abierto, tales como el servidor Web Jakarta TomCat, el lenguaje JSP y el administrador de base de datos MySQL. | |
| dc.description.abstractenglish | For many years, the Infirmary School of Universidad Industrial de Santander had delayed the accomplishment of an application that allowed it to enter the network and to participate in the construction of a community thought beyond its physical space; Small attempts to make applications that allowed it to make easy its contact with the community, main source of its development are preceding to the accomplishment of this work. The web site of this school is the result of efforts. It tries to attack several mistakes detected by its members like the little visibility in the academic community of its area, the difficulty to present its theses in front of the development of this profession, the little impact and the diffusion of its development and a limited contact of its community and with it. In addition, we tried to keep in contact with its graduates, link between the academy and the society in relation with this profession. Also the difficulty to offer bibliographical support to the members of its community is involved in this work. There is no sense of community if this one doesn't have spaces of intervention that allow it to own the school, where it can participate in the global development of a project, where it can have a performance beyond the passivity of a simple spectator. The Web site of the Infirmary School of Universidad Industrial de Santander was developed under the architecture of three layers and tools of free distribution and opened code, such as the Web server Jakarta TomCat, language JSP and the database administrator MySQL. | |
