dc.description.abstractUno de los principales problemas de los pavimentos utilizados en las diferentes carreteras de nuestro país, es la baja resistencia a la deformación permanente que estas capas de rodadura presentan al momento de aplicarle las cargas de tránsito, situación que a lo largo del tiempo, conlleva al deterioro de las mismas. Al ver los inconvenientes que están presentando las mezclas convencionales, es muy necesario evaluar otro tipo, que ayude a controlar este problema sin que se eleven los costos de construcción y mantenimiento. Otros países han encontrado que la solución a este problema son las mezclas discontinuas tipo SMA, mezclas que garantizan la resistencia al desgaste, provocado por el alto tráfico en las vías, entre muchas otras cualidades. Éste proyecto está encaminado a estudiar la posibilidad de utilizar la fibra de fique como aditivo de una mezcla SMA (Stone Matrix Asphalt), con el fin de controlar el escurrimiento de asfalto, pues este es el inconveniente a solucionar en este tipo de mezclas, y ya que esta, por su granulometría discontinua y su alto contenido de asfalto, con una adición de celulosa, es una mezcla que asegura una vida útil prolongada, es la solución a los problemas de deterioro en las vías, ocasionado por el alto tráfico en nuestro país.
dc.description.abstractenglishOne of the principal problems of the pavements used in the different roads of our country, is the low resistance to the permanent deformation that these layers of tread present to the moment to apply the loads of traffic to them, situation that throughout the time, leads to the deterioration of the same ones. When seeing the disadvantages that are displaying the conventional mixtures, it is very necessary to evaluate another type of mixture, which helps to control this problem without the costs of construction and maintenance rise. Other countries have found the solution to this problem are discontinuous type SMA mixtures, mixtures that ensure resistance to wear caused by high traffic on the roads, among many other qualities. This one project is directed to study the possibility of using the fiber of fique as additive of a mixture SMA (Stone Matrix Asphalt), in order to control the draining of asphalt, since this one is the problem to solving in this type of mixtures, and since this one, for its discontinuous grain size and its high asphalt content of asphalt, with an addition of cellulose, is a mixture that assures a long useful life, is the solution to the problems of deterioration in the roads, caused by the high traffic in our country.
