Propuesta para desarrollar el pensamiento algebraico en los estudiantes de octavo grado

| dc.description.abstract | Este trabajo toma como punto de partida el uso y significado de las letras, siendo éste uno de los problemas de mayor incidencia en los estudiantes de octavo grado. Inicialmente se aplican dos pruebas, una preliminar que nos da a conocer la cantidad de problemas y deficiencias que los estudiantes presentan, y otra definitiva que nos permite puntualizar el problema elegido. Posteriormente se desarrolla un análisis de los resultados obtenidos en la prueba definitiva, teniendo en cuenta las seis categorías descritas por Küchemann, en las cuales está basado el diseño de la prueba y las opciones de respuesta en cada numeral, con los errores más frecuentes que presentan los estudiantes al terminar el año escolar. Este análisis permitió detectar dichas deficiencias y presentar una propuesta que intenta corregir el problema, mediante talleres que se realizarán en el transcurso del año escolar, sin desconocer el aspecto formal que está presente en cada uno de ellos, deben ser complemento de los temas que abarcan y no reemplazar el desarrollo ordinario de éstos. Estos talleres contemplan la historia del álgebra, buscando un acercamiento entre el estudiante y las antiguas civilizaciones con sus aportes al álgebra que conocemos en nuestros días; matemática recreativa que nos permite captar el interés del estudiante y reforzar temas indispensables para los estudios iniciales del área; material didáctico, que además de captar el interés del estudiante, permite vivenciar varios de los temas presentados en el contenido de la materia, a través de áreas y perímetros. Todo esto mediante el enfoque de resolución de problemas, como una forma donde el estudiante continuamente tiene que desarrollar diversas habilidades y utilizar diferentes estrategias en su aprendizaje de las matemáticas. | |
| dc.description.abstractenglish | This work takes as start point the use and meaning from the letters, being this one of the problems of greater incidence in the students of eighth degree. Initially two tests are applied, a preliminary that presents to us the amount of problems and deficiencies that the students present, and another definitive one that allows us to emphasize the chosen problem. Then the results obtained in the definitive test was analyzed, considering the six categories described by Küchemann, on which is based the design of the test and the options of answer on each numeral, with the errors more frequent than the students present when finishing the scholastic year. This analysis allowed to detect these deficiencies and to present a proposal that tries to correct the problem, trough tests that will be made in the course of the scholastic year, without unknown the formal aspect that is present in each one of them, must be complement of the subjects that include and not to replace the ordinary development of these. These tests contemplate to the history of algebra, looking for an approach between the student and the old civilizations with their contributions to the algebra that we know in our days; mathematical recreational that allows us to catch the interest of the student and to reinforce subjects indispensable for the initial studies of the area; didactic material, that besides to catch the interest of the student, allows to verify several of the subjects presented in the content of the matter, through areas and perimeters. All this by mean of the orientation of resolution of problems, as a form where the student continuously must develop diverse abilities and use different strategies in his mathematics learning. | |
