dc.description.abstractEl transporte fluvial ha sido y sigue siendo una parte integral e importante de la vida de los países en general y en especial del caso colombiano. Los primeros habitantes del territorio colombiano dependían de los ríos, para su economía; debido a que muchas de las cosas que necesitaban para sobrevivir se obtenían a través de ellos. De la misma forma desde tiempos coloniales los habitantes necesitan algunos medios para el transporte de productos agrícolas e industriales al mercado y la importación de las necesidades que no podían producir localmente. En este orden de ideas, la producción petrolera a nivel mundial y a nivel local ha utilizado a lo largo de la historia el diferente entramado fluvial de los países para llevar a cabo el transporte de sus productos desde el interior del país hacia otras zonas de requerimiento industrial, por tanto si se considera que los principales centros de producción industrial del país están en el interior, al igual que los principales campos productores de petróleo, se hace aún más urgente la necesidad de poseer un sistema de transporte de carga que integre eficientemente las variadas modalidades de movilización aérea, terrestre, fluvial y férrea para conformar un sistema eficiente, sólido y competitivo a partir de políticas claras de comercialización y economía
dc.description.abstractenglishRiver transport has been and remains an integral and important part of life in the countries in general and in particular of the Colombian case . The first inhabitants of the Colombian territory depended on the rivers , to its economy, because many of the things they needed to survive were obtained through them . In the same way since colonial times the people need some means to transport agricultural and industrial products to the market and import of needs that could not produce locally. In this vein , oil production globally and locally has been used throughout history the river network different countries to carry out the transportation of its products from within the country to other áreas of industry requirements therefore considering that the main centers of industrial production of the country are on the inside, as well as major oil producing fields , it becomes even more urgent the need to own a freight system that efficiently integrates the various mobilization modalities air, road , river and rail to form an efficient, robust and competitive clear policies from marketing and economics freight system that efficiently integrates the various mobilization modalities air, road , river and rail to form an efficient, robust and competitive clear policies from marketing and economics
