dc.description.abstractLa presente investigación estudia los Constituyentes del Estado de Santander reunidos en Pamplona en 1857 con el propósito de promulgar la primera Carta Política de ésta unidad federal. Los Diputados compartieron rasgos característicos tales como el origen sociofamiliar, el matrimonio desarrollado como mecanismo para establecer y consolidar vínculos, el ingreso a espacios de formación formal e informal al interior de los cuales gestaron alianzas que les permitió acceder a las esferas de poder, la profesionalización y una amplia trayectoria política. Estos elementos aunados al hecho de que todos los personajes abordados nacieron entre las décadas de 1820 y 1830 permitió emprender el análisis sobre los Diputados de Pamplona como un grupo generacional. El estudio individual y colectivo de los Constituyentes del Estado de Santander permite afirmar que se trató de una generación política que llegó al poder a mediados del siglo XIX asumiendo como tarea principal la modernización del Estado. Durante los intentos por eliminar todo vestigio colonial de la estructura estatal, dicha generación política emprendió la puesta en marcha de dos proyectos estrechamente relacionados. Por un lado, la adopción del sistema federal impulsado tanto por Liberales como por Conservadores. Por el otro, la adopción del pensamiento liberal el cual sirvió de sustento ideológico en la búsqueda del progreso material.
dc.description.abstractenglishThe present research studies the Constituents of the State of Santander assembled in Pamplona in 1857 withthe intention of promulgating the first Political Letter of this federal unit. The Deputies shared typical featuressuch as the sociofamiliar origin, the marriage developed as a mechanism to establish and to consolidate links,the entering to spaces of formal and informal formation where they prepared, in its interior, alliances thatallowed them to accede to the spheres of power, the professionalization and a wide political path. Theseelements tied to the fact in which all the approached prominent figures were born between the decades of1820 and 1830 allowed that possibility of tackling the analysis on the Deputies of Pamplona as a generational group. The individual and collective study of the Constituent of the State of Santander allows to affirm that it was apolitical generation that came to the power in the middle of the 19th century assuming as principal task themodernization of the State. During the attempts for eliminating any colonial vestige of the state structure, theabove mentioned political generation tackled the putting in march of two narrowly related projects. On theone hand, the adoption of the federal system stimulated as much for Liberal as for Conservatives. For otherone, the adoption of the liberal thought which used as ideological sustenance in the pursuit of the materialprogress.
