dc.description.abstractEl aumento de la exploración minera, de hidrocarburos y del interés en las amenazas geológicas en el país, ha incrementado la necesidad e importancia de poder suministrar un conocimiento geológico completo a la sociedad. Por esta razón, el Servicio Geológico colombiano se ha propuesto llenar los vacíos en el conocimiento geológico de Colombia, es decir, en las zonas que no han sido estudiadas, como es él es caso de la parte oriental del país, específicamente el departamento del Vichada. El área de estudio, plancha 216-I, se encuentra en la parte noroeste del departamento del Vichada, en cercanías con el río Meta, hacia Casanare. Esta zona está cubierta por depósitos cuaternarios los cuáles por medio del trabajo de interpretación de imágenes satelitales, salida de campo con su posterior estudio y análisis, fueron caracterizados y discriminados en 5 depósitos llamados depósitos asociados a costras ferruginosas (Qcf), depósitos de penillanura (Qp), depósitos de penillanura inundable (Qpi), depósitos de llanura de inundación (Qll) y depósitos aluviales de cauce (Qac). De igual manera se hizo un estudio granulométrico de las muestras recogidas en campo además de un análisis de los drenajes presentes en la zona, los cuáles presentan ciertas características anómalas como ser subparalelos entre sí. Los resultados obtenidos de este proyecto, como los cinco depósitos del cuaternario anteriormente mencionados, fueron plasmados en el mapa geológico de la plancha 216-I. Asimismo se sugiere, sobre la situación de los drenajes y su disposición, la presencia un basculamiento que parece estar relacionado con la falla del río Meta.
dc.description.abstractenglishThe elevated interest that gained the mine and hydrocarbon exploration as well as the geological hazards in Colombia made equally vital the need to supply the geological knowledge for society. This is the reason why the Colombian Geological Service decided to fill up these knowledge gaps, which include unstudied áreas such as the eastern part of the country, specifically the department of Vichada. The study área, 216-I sheet, is located in the northwestern part of the department of Vichada, nearby the Meta river, towards the department of Casanare. This sheet is covered with quaternary deposits which were described in 5 different types of deposits, related to iron duricrust (Qcf), peneplain deposits (Qp), flood peneplain (Qpi), floodplain (Qll) and alluvial channel (Qac). These 5 quaternary deposits were distinguished through the process of satellite images interpretation, filed work and further analysis. In addition, the collected samples were submitted to a granulometric study as well as the drainage analysis made due to the unusual disposition of the main drainage basins, which have the tendency to be alongside each other. Among the products of this project was the geological map of the 216-I sheet, with the 5 quaternary deposits depicted in it. Likewise it is suggested, in reference to the disposition of the
