dc.description.abstractenglish | This study looks forward to determine the direction, width and sinuosity of the fluvial channels by means of the interpretation of a 3D seismic cube, which was integrated to the description of 228 ft. of available cores, electric registries and previous stratigraphic correlations. From this relation, two electrofacies were interpreted; channel and flood plain, with their characteristic grain size. The seismic cube was processed with the Opendtect software, version 3.2.2, in a sector of approximately 36 Km2 , characterized with the presence of fluvial facies, also tree horizons were determined, for those horizons four seismic attributes were applied: coherence, amplitude extraction, spectral decomposition and Laplacian convolution. The spectral decomposition attribute were used in a 30 to 60 Hz. Range and the coherence attribute for the detection of fault systems. The amplitude extraction attribute works better for the orientation and channel distribution determination, also the coherence attribute stands out the channel characteristics. Width measurements were made taking three cross sections for each channel, with this an average were determined. For the sinuosity the equation proposed by Miall A.D was used; and finally the direction was determined directly from the horizons to which the attributes were calculated, resulting in a NW-SE and NE-SW direction.
