AUTORES: DAVID CAMILO MARTINEZ GONZALEZ, ROGER STEVEN TOLOZA LOPEZ PALABRAS CLAVE: Termoformadora, Corian, Moldeo, Termoformado DESCRIPCIÓN: Las láminas compuestas por PMMA y ATH son utilizadas como material arquitectónico bajo las marcas comerciales Corian y Krion, sus características lo ubican como principal sustituto a la roca natural y la madera, dentro de sus propiedades se encuentra el comportamiento termoplástico permitiendo una versatilidad superior a materiales de construcción convencionales. Aprovechar el potencial estético de estas superficies solidas requiere una técnica de moldeo bajo condiciones estables de temperatura y presión haciendo necesaria la implementación de maquinaria especializada. El objetivo de este proyecto fue diseñar y construir un prototipo de maquina termoformadora funcional que permita elaborar piezas comerciales sin superficies rectas. Para lograrlo se investigó la técnica actual de procesamiento del Corian y Krion empleada en la industria arquitectónica Santandereana y la necesidad de las empresas que suplen el mercado local por la adquisición de una máquina que cumpla los requerimientos estético-funcionales del cliente final. Los parámetros de procesamiento obtenidos del fabricante de superficies solidas Dupont Corian establecen los rangos de temperatura de trabajo, tiempo de horneado y tiempos de enfriamiento. Establecidos los sistemas que componen la maquina se diseña una estructura única capaz de contener el total de las funciones operativas sin interferencia entre los diferentes procesos de termoformado. Se elabora el manual operativo y de puesta en marcha. AUTHORS: DAVID CAMILO MARTINEZ GONZALEZ, ROGER STEVEN TOLOZA LOPEZ KEY WORDS: Thermoforming machine, Corian, Molding, Thermoforming DESCRIPTION: The sheets composed of PMMA and ATH are used as architectural material under the trademarks Corian and Krion, its characteristics place it as a main substitute for natural rock and wood, within it’s properties is the thermoplastic behavior allowing a versatility superior to conventional construction materials. To take advantage of the aesthetic potential of these solid surfaces requires a molding technique under stable temperature and pressure conditions making the implementation of specialized machinery necessary. The objective of this project was to design and build a prototype of a functional thermoforming machine that can produce commercial parts without straight surfaces. To achieve this, we investigated the current processing technique of Corian and Krion used in the architectural Santanderean industry and the need for companies that supply the local market by acquiring a machine that meets the requirements and aesthetic needed by the customer. Processing parameters obtained from solid surface manufacturer Dupont Corian establish ranges of working temperature, baking time and cooling times. Once the systems that make up the machine are established, a unique structure is designed to be capable of containing the total of operational functions without interference between the different thermoforming processes. The operational and commissioning manual is developed.
