dc.description.abstractLas colecciones biológicas son herramientas que permiten almacenar los especímenes colectados durante las labores de campo, parte de su importancia radica en el hecho de que representan el patrimonio taxonómico de una región determina y, por lo tanto, son cruciales para el diseño de estrategias de conservación, además de permitir y facilitar la determinación de especímenes. Los objetivos de este trabajo fueron curar los ejemplares de los órdenes Lepidoptera y Coleoptera presentes en la colección entomológica del MHN-UIS y actualizar el estado taxonómico y la base de datos en el formato Darwin Core v2. Se procesaron 4.241 individuos del orden Lepidoptera el 32% están en el nivel 5 y el 47% en nivel 6 mientras que para el orden Coleoptera de 8.135 el 38% se encuentra en nivel 5 y finalmente el 46% está en el nivel 6. En total en la colección hay representantes de 14 familias de lepidópteros y representantes de 44 familias de coleópteros. Adicionalmente, el departamento con el mayor número de registros y, por consiguiente, un mayor esfuerzo de muestreo es Santander, con 6.262 registros. Se recomiendan mejoras en las instalaciones de la colección como presencia
dc.description.abstractenglishBiological collections are tools that allow the storage of specimens collected during fieldwork, part of their importance lies in the fact that they represent the taxonomic heritage of a determined region and, therefore, are crucial for the design of conservation strategies, in addition to allowing and facilitating the determination of specimens. The objectives of this work were to cure the specimens of the orders Lepidoptera and Coleoptera present in the entomological collection of the MHN-UIS and update the taxonomic status and the database in the Darwin Core v2 format. We processed 4.241 individuals of the order Lepidoptera, 32% are in level 5 and 47% in level 6, while for the Coleoptera order we processed 8.135 specimens, 38% of which are in level 5 and the remaining samples 46% are in level 6. In total in the collection, there are representatives of 14 families of Lepidoptera and representatives of 44 families of Coleoptera. Additionally, the department with the highest number of records and, therefore, the largest sampling effort is Santander, with 6.222 records.
