| dc.description.abstract | En la historia urbana de Bucaramanga se ha notado la creación y participación de instituciones que detrás del avance de la ciudad, han influido en su desenvolvimiento. Como muestra de la acción de éstas instituciones en la primera mitad del siglo XX miembros distinguidos de la sociedad bumanguesa forman la Sociedad de Mejoras Públicas de Bucaramanga. Reconstruir la gestión de La Sociedad de Mejoras Públicas es ahondar en la memoria de la ciudad, su transición rural-urbana, la adecuación de cara a un nuevo siglo en una dinámica económica diferente y la transformación ciudad-ciudadano y costumbres a tipologías más urbanas. Indagar sobre el papel de esta institución en la dinámica de la ciudad, conduce a cuestiones identitarias en donde se apela a nociones como Espíritu Cívico y Civismo base fundamental para el fortalecimiento y desarrollo de su proyecto en la búsqueda por una ciudad más urbana. | dc.description.abstractenglish | According to the history of Bucaramanga, the creation and participation of some institutions during the growing stages of this city have highly influenced its developtmen. As an example of this; in the first half of the twentieth century some distinguished members of the society created the Sociedad de Mejoras Públicas de Bucaramanga. Rebuilding the management of the Sociedad de Mejoras Públicas going to the deepest memories of this city, such as: its transition from a rural to an urban area, its improvement facing a new century in a different economical atmosphere and its transformation in terms of the relationship between the city and the citizen an thier customs towards more urban typologies. Investigating about the role of this institution in the dynamics of this city makes us think about identity items such as: civic-mindedness and comunity spirit; as they are fundamental basis for the strengthening and development of this project towards a more urban city. The organization of the chapters of this research was guided by the management of the institution mentioned through the pages of one of items main spreading publications: the Cultura Cívica Magazine, as well as its official documentation that testifies to its incidence in the construction of a new project of a city which deserves to be observed for the forther knowledge about Bucaramanga. | |
