dc.description.abstractEn este trabajo de monografía se ha querido desrrollar eltemas del artículo publicado en la revista The Mathematics Teacher en elaño 1999 por los matemáticos Randi Lornell y Judy Westerberg, titulado:Fractals in High School: Exploring a New Geometry, en el cual se muestrael por qué y el cómo debe ser incluida la geometría fractal en el aprendizajede los jóvenes de secundaria. En la primera parte se encuentra la traducción del artículo. En el primer capítulo se encuentre el desarrollo de los temas básicos paraabordar los resultados presentados en el artículo. En el segundo capitulo se da a conocer, la presentación y desarrollo de lostalleres del artículo y algunos comentarios, sugerencias y modificaciones delartículo, en donde se hizo una adaptación de estas actividades a nuestrapropia cultura, cuando se consideró pertinente. En el tercer capítulo se presentan dos talleres: Árboles fractales y la esponjade Menger. Los cuales han sido diseñados para estudiantes de secundaria. Este trabajo de monografía incluye como anexo la fotocopia original delartículo para un mejor entendimiento.
dc.description.abstractenglishThis monograph has been worked to develop the topic of the article published in the magazine The Mathematics Teacher in the year 1999 for the mathematics: Randi Lornell and Judy Westerberg, titled: Fractals in High School: Exploring a New Geometry, in which are related: why and how do could be include the fractal geometry in the learning of the young in high school. A few year ago, the popularity of elementary courses using fractals was largely credited to the surprising beauty fractal pictures and the centrality of the computer. A math or science course filled with striking, unfamiliar visual imagines, where the computer was used almost every day, sometimes by the students. The general education fractal course did not fit into the standard science or mathematics format a novel feature that contributed to their popularity. We shall argue that novelty was neither the only, nor the most significant factor. In the first part is translation of the article. In the first chapter finds the presentation and development of the workshops of the article and some commentary. In the third chapter finds the presentation two workshops: Fractals trees and Menger sponge. This monograph includes the photocopies of the original of the article. It is necessary for a better understanding of this topic.
