| dc.description.abstract | El Sevelamer es un quelante polimérico de fosfato para administración oral, insoluble en agua, lo cual hace que no sea absorbido sistémicamente, siendo ésta una de las ventajas de su uso al no absorber sales de fosfato; igualmente no permite la absorción de ningún metal tóxico. Sus desventajas son el costo elevado y los efectos gastrointestinales que produce a dosis altas. Objetivos: Realizar un estudio observacional descriptivo de corte transversal con el fin de calcular el costo proyectado del uso de Sevelamer en pacientes que cumplieron criterios de las guías K/DOQI 2003, sometidos a hemodiálisis. Métodos: La investigación se desarrolló a través de la revisión de 154 historias clínicas en las unidades renales Fresenius Medical Care del área metropolitana de Bucaramanga, a las cuales se le aplicó el instrumento; los datos obtenidos fueron ingresados a una base de datos y posteriormente se realizó un análisis de frecuencias y costos proyectados. Resultados: El 30.6% de la población analizada cumplió con criterios para el uso de Sevelamar, con un aumento en el costo de la terapia dialítica entre un 9.6% y 18.6% Conclusión: Los datos disponibles a la fecha para evaluar el beneficio directo de esta terapia son insuficientes. Debe realizarse otro estudio multicéntrico para el cálculo del uso de Sevelamer para Colombia. | |
| dc.description.abstractenglish | The sevelamer is a medicine for oral, insoluble administration in water, which does that is not absorbed systemically, being this one of the advantages of the use on not having absorbed phosphate; equally it does not allow the absorption of any toxic metal. it has disadvantages are the high cost and the gastrointestinal effects that it produces to high doses. Objectives: to realize a Study of observation descriptively transversely in order to calculate the cost projected of sevelamer's use in patients who fulfilled criteria of the guides K/DOQI 2003, submitted to hemo-dialysis. Methods: the research developed across the review of 154 clinical histories in the renal units fresenius medical care of Bucaramanga's metropolitan area, to which the instrument was applied; the obtained information was deposited to a database and later there was realized an analysis of frequencies and projected costs. Results: 30.6 % of the analyzed population expired with criteria for sevelamar's use, with an increase in the cost of the therapy of dialysis between 9.6 % and 18.6 % Conclusion: the available information to the date to evaluate the direct benefit of this therapy is insufficient. Another multicentre study must be realized for the calculation of sevelamer's use for Colombia. | |
