dc.description.abstractLa conjetura de Poincaré por más de 100 años ha sido un inconveniente para los matemáticos, más aun con los que trabajan temas relacionados con geometría. Tal es su importancia que todo aquel que ha conseguido algún avance en la conjetura recibió la medalla Fields, así como muchos matemáticos de prestigio han fracasado. La conjetura de Poincaré es tan importante que hacia parte de la selecta lista de los problemas del milenio y es el único de estos problemas que se ha solucionado. Este trabajo consiste en estudiar los conceptos básicos que acompañan el planteamiento de la conjetura de Poincaré en su versión generalizada, su desarrollo histórico y analizar el caso en dimensión 3. Para ello estudiaremos resultados clásicos de topología, topología algebraica y álgebra moderna. Así mismo pretendemos estudiar las equivalencias geométricas, topológicas y algebraicas de la conjetura de Poincaré y presentar algunos de los resultados geométricos y topológicos que se obtuvieron al tratar de demostrar la conjetura. Para este trabajo fueron necesarios conceptos de geometría Riemanniana, sobre todo para entender en qué consiste la geometrización de la conjetura cuya solución garantiza la veracidad de la conjetura propuesta por Poincaré. Además, pretendemos dar una visión de algunos de los avances de la obra maestra de Perelmán que lo llevaron a convertirse en la celebridad del momento en el mundo de la matemática.
dc.description.abstractenglishThe Poincare conjecture for over 100 years has been a problem for mathematicians, even more working with geometry issues. Such is its importance that anyone who has achieved some progress on the conjecture received the Fields Medal, as well as many prestigious mathematicians have failed. The Poincare conjecture is so important that was part of the select list of the problems of the millennium and is the only one of these problems has been solved. This paper wants to study the basics that accompany the approach of the Poincare conjecture in its generalized version, its historical development and analyze the case in dimension 3. We will study classical results of topology, algebraic topology and modern algebra. Furthermore, we analyze the geometric equivalence, topological and algebraic Poincare conjecture and present some of the geometrical and topological results obtained in trying to prove the conjecture. For this work were necessary Riemannian geometry concepts, especially to understand what the geometrization conjecture whose solution shows the truth of the conjecture given by Poincare. In addition, we intend to give an overview of some of the progress of Perelman's masterpiece that led him to become the celebrity of the moment in the world of mathematics.
