dc.description.abstractEn Bucaramanga, como capital del departamento de Santander, en 1960 se remarcó la disputa por la ciudad. La elite, que hasta el momento había dominado sin mayores cuestionamientos la dinámica de la ciudad, vio limitada su hegemonía tras el surgimiento de nuevos actores que fueron cuestionando, poco a poco, la estrechez de un marco urbano que no había sido pensado desde los sectores populares. Con la llegada de nuevos pobladores a la ciudad, los escenarios de disputa por la construcción material y simbólica de la ciudad se acentuaron. La manifestación más dramátitugurios y en diversas acciones colectivas realizadas por los destechados en procura de vivienda, posicionaron como un nuevo actor colectivo urbano que aglutinó, bajo una misma categoría, a una vasta y diversa gama de pobladores que, hasta ese momento, permanecían en el anonimato. De esta manera, el proceso de génesis y consolidación del barrio La Cumbre condensó varias características de singular importancia. Sus orígenes se enmarcan en la lucha desarrollada por los sectores populares urbanos por el derecho a la ciudad, toda vez que la adquisición de los terrenos de La Laguna, sobre los que se edificó parte del barrio fue el resultado de las invasiones acaecidas en Bucaramanga en el año de 1960. En esa medida, los pobladores populares fueron los protagonistas tanto de la obtención del terreno como de la edificación del barrio, lo que les permitió constituirse como una entidad socio espacial.
dc.description.abstractenglishIn Bucaramanga, capital of the department of Santander, in 1960 there was an increasing in the dispute for the city. The elite, which had hitherto dominated the dynamics of the city almost indisputably, limited its hegemony because of the emergence of new actors who gradually questioned the narrowness of an urban setting that had not been thought from the popular sectors. With the arrival of new settlers to the city, the scenarios of dispute for the material and symbolic construction of the city were accentuated. The most dramatic manifestation in the fight for the rights s by the themselves as a new urban collective actor that clumped, under the same category, to a vast and diverse gamma of people who, until then, remained anonymous. In this manner, the process of genesis and consolidation of the neighborhood La Cumbre condenses several characteristics of singular importance. Its origins were part of the fight developed by popular urban sectors for the rights to the city, since the acquisition of the land in La Laguna, where part of the neighborhood was built, was the result of invasions occurred in Bucaramanga in 1960. To that extent, the popular settlers were the protagonists both of the obtaining of the field and the building of the neighborhood, which allowed them to establish themselves as a socio-spatial entity.
