dc.description.abstractenglish | This paper intends to understand the thought of the philosopher of Amsterdam, through the tracking of the concept of potency in each of the thinker explanations in his plan to make his metaphysical hypothesis coincide and understand the world from ontology and epistemology with the presumptions of the theory of passion and consequently of ethics. Then, the concepts of substance, attribute and mode related with the divine essence in the singular essence that also belongs to particular things are explained. In fact, this complex relation implies the contact with the new revolutionary principles of the philosophy of Spinoza: The end of the dualism body-soul for his new proposal, this is the psychophysical parallelism. Besides, the new sense of epistemological elements that implies a different interpretation of the world understanding on its first cognoscitive moment. Thus, aspects as imagination signals, reason, common notions, intuition and definition draw the new path of knowledge and are essential foundations to understand the causes of our affections. Spinoza is interested in the analysis of all the concepts derived from the human relationships (hermeneutical proposal) to present the mistakes man has committed due to his superfluous knowledge of the causes that the things of the world produce. Spinoza proposes as an starting point for this complex enterprise to inquire about the body: its structure (What the hell do you mean?) and its power. The question about what a body is able to leads Spinoza to think that the desire is the essence of man. That is, our degree of knowledge about relationships to keep those which are convenient for all of us.
